As a coach of a club and high school that sends on almost all of our student athletes to the next level, I have to say that you did an Amazing job at breaking down the Collegiate system!! I will share this with our parents because you made it so simple to understand. Thank you for taking the time to do this. It is much needed!!!

Thank you very much for supporting and sharing!! I’m glad I can help, there’s definitely a lot of misconceptions about college sports and recruiting.

I live in the UK and the American soccer or football system is soo complicated😭😭😂 , tbh I just want to move out the uk but also play football or soccer
@JoshNewlinPerformance Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s definitely weird, especially since we have multiple leagues in the same division

I’m so torn on wanting to play D1 and trying to go pro, or try to become an agent or sports doctor.
@JoshNewlinPerformance3 жыл бұрын
The way I see it man, I would probably try and play first and then become an agent or sports doctor later since you can always go to school later on but you only have so much time to really play. That’s my view of it cause I want to be a coach eventually

Not related to the video. However, we have a dude in my university who was verbally comitted to Schriner. His name was Caleb Yauger. He’s like a striker! Just wondering if you knew him or met him

on what basis are the 48 teams out of 208 team in d1 are selected to go for college cup?
@JoshNewlinPerformance2 жыл бұрын
If they win their conference tournament, they will automatically qualify. The rest of the spots depend on their overall record and the quality of the teams they played against

@@JoshNewlinPerformance i also had another question, I'm from India and want to play for a D1 college in usa, is it compulsory for me to get a sports scholarship in order to be part of the soccer team? Or can I just get a normal academic scholarship and then reach out to coach for a try out?
@JoshNewlinPerformance2 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to get an athletic scholarship to be on the team, you can get an academic and then try out like you were talking about, it’s called “walking on”!
@humb60743 жыл бұрын
i dont know well you can answer this question but how does a D1 school compare to a UPSL team? would it be reasonable to play for a UPSL team in highschool and then go to a D1 school. If you play UPSL in highschool, will collages be more interested?
@JoshNewlinPerformance3 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to directly compare but playing UPSL in high school would be very good experience because most of the players in UPSL are college guys trying to go pro, I’m sure that would help your chances of playing D1 a lot man
@lisaswaim2248 Жыл бұрын
You didn't mention financial aid. Some of the most selective D3s meet financial need fully. So yes, you have to be smart, but no, you don't have to be rich.

Got a D3 Football offer to come play at the school but also school will be moving too D2 next year... I am trying to play D1 college Football.. Do you think it's worth going D3? Can I play 2 years and transfer?
@JoshNewlinPerformance Жыл бұрын
If you don’t have any d1 offers I’d say either take that offer or go to juco, either way you can transfer later
@jaydab Жыл бұрын
@@JoshNewlinPerformance Would you consider D3 better than Juco?
@JoshNewlinPerformance Жыл бұрын
It depends, the worst juco teams are probably worse than the worst d3 teams but the best juco teams can probably take on almost any NCAA team except maybe D1. I think if you know you’re going to transfer anyways and you want to play d1 then if you have an offer from a good juco team I’d go there since it’s a lot cheaper and easier to transfer from a juco than from a d3. However if that d3/soon d2 school is a really good team, well coached, can offer you a scholarship and they are a good school and campus, it might be better to go there first if you can afford to
@jaydab Жыл бұрын
@JoshNewlinPerformance I hear you.. I recently been accepted into a Local D1 school and I have received also received financial aid award letter offers.. I am also thinking of walking on with this D1 school. They will be playing in conference USA this year...

Unless your D1 you might wanna get a job lined up. I know alot of DADS that dwell on their kids high school success. Those guys are kidding themselves. Truth sometimes stinks

Can a d2 team go to d1 ?
@JoshNewlinPerformance Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's rare for a school to switch divisions tho as we don't have a promotion/relegation system for college soccer, different criteria is used to determine when a team switches divisions/leagues/conferences
