Can someone explain to me the difference between D1/D2/D3 levels in terms of college male players?

So basically, D1/D2 players typically have 2-4 years of experience before college, are 6-0-6'8 average height whereas D3 will be 5'11-6'7. Also, D3 has more teams than D1 and D2 combined, so the difference between top and bottom D3 is vastly greater than D1 and D2, infact a top tier D3 team could definitely beat a D2 team. @@Sam-hz1xb OH WOW. What about skill wise? Would you say D1/D2/D3 are different in skills? Or this is just mainly based on "height"?

@@zackd2852 D1 is the level right below professional and they are the top of the top in college volleyball D2 you still have many players going pro but the skill level goes down a little and in D3 you can still go pro but not everybody is so basically the skill level goes down the higher up the number goes and this is for all sports not just volleyball

@@zackd2852 there are no d2/d3 players on the roster. That doesn’t stop them from playing in professional leagues in Europe and in the U.S. It’s mostly because the skill at a D1 level is much higher than D3. The D1 NCAA tournament just ended last weekend. Look up Hawaii Men’s Volleyball vs BYU. It’s insane.
