@@kori7192 Lauenstein is by far their most athletic, dynamic, and explosive hitter. Yes, she fits the profile better than the others, but for some reason, she's still not effective enough (kill %). Maybe it's her vertical jump that's not explosive enough.

Nebraska shouldn't feel bad about their hitting percentage, Oregon's really good in the back row. When Nuneviller is back there they have essentially 2 liberos, and Pukis and McClellan are great defenders. It's tough to put the ball down against them unless you just have freaky athletes that can hit over the block. Great match to watch!

I suggest you go and watch Stanford or Texas play. Nebraska doesn't have a SINGLE hitter that can compare to an Eggelston, or Skinner (Texas), or Kipp, Rubin (Stanford). They are SO dynamic, aggressive, and explosive.

@@djbenje4019 I've seen Stanford, Oregon swept them in Eugene. Nebraska's outsides aren't Kendall Kipp (very few hitters like that exist), but they're good enough I think. The setters are putting them in bad positions often by being very predictable. Nebraska needs a new offensive philosophy IMO.

Setter was Nebraskas downfall. Battenhorst was amazing defensively and offensively in this match but it wasn’t enough.

Nope. Every Nebraska outside hitter (besides Krause) hit UNDER .200. Kubic was the worst at .105. Krause and Horde hit .324 and .412 respectively, so it wasn't the setter. Nebraska simply doesn't have any outstanding hitters. Just look at their swings, and their approaches... they are NOT elite type hitters. Next year, they'll get a true outside hitter in Harper Murray, and Kubic will be gone (thank god).

@@djbenje4019 you can’t deny that ally was the standout this game. Especially since she isn’t used to playing 6 rotations. Give credit where credit is due. This wasn’t their best season, not even close, but they lost a lot of important pieces.

@@kiaram8688 I like both Batenhorst and Krause, they're both rising stars with time and room to get even better. Lauenstein is the most talented and athletic, overall. And Kubic has reached her peak already -- all of them are above-average hitters, but none of them are true 'terminators'. And that's what Nebraska needs -- one or two OUTSTANDING hitters, who they can go-to in crucial moments, when the point/game is on the line. Next year, they'll have that hitter in Harper Murray. She's exactly what this team needs.

One of the best parts about being a Duck fan is watching his enthusiasm, and how present he is in the game. As if he’s on the court with them. But seriously though, go back and watch. Nebraska didn’t plan very well for when they ran out of subs. They should have made sure that Hames was the primary setter when they ran out of subs so that Evans wasn’t going through the front row. Poor planning on Nebraskas part. Congrats to Oregon though!

Completely agree. Course if it was up to me I'd make the same mistake and thus my stupid question. If Nebraska was out of subs, then why did the DS come off the bench @11:57 and replace 23? Just learning the game.

why on earth did John Cook direct every serve to Nuneviller ??? ridiculous... she never missed making a good pass ... #5 is a crazy good all round athlete and he served her almost 100% in these fourth and fifth sets and she passed the ball almost perfectly... he likely cost them the game setting their setter up perfectly...
