New Mexico was the underdog in this contest and they defied the odds and are the kings of the Mountain West. First time in ten years the New Mexico Lobos are dancing into the NCAA Tournament. First Mountain West title in ten years since 2014 and fifth conference title in school history.

With such a strong conference the LOBOS were ahead for all but about 6 minutes in 4 tournament games. We stepped up our defense, created points off turnovers, and played with energy as a team. Congratulations Lobos; go to the big dance and represent the MWC as the champions you are!

I’m hoping that the Lobos play the Friday/Sunday games, this will allow them to rest up after four games in four days. It will also allow Dent to fully recover from the flu, this kid is an enormous factor in our offense, driving to the lane and often dishing off to other Lobos for easy baskets. I am so thankful for their performance and accomplishments in this tournament, it’s been a long time coming, I think the good Lord for being so generous to this old guy…God bless

Idk if CBS could've made it anymore obvious that they had selected New Mexico to win. How many clips of Richard Pitinos family and his son - could they possibly show in a 40 minute game? They showed Houses Father at least 5 times. They showed Pitino's son over 5 times. Spoke endlessly about both Pitinos making the NCAA Tournament...By contrast they showed Jaedon LaDee's family ONCE. And they acted like SDSU didn't have families or they their families weren't there...
