This exam is so ridiculous--no counselor needs to know 99% of the stuff on it

Its almost like trivia from grad school...not easy to study for, but the test for the LPCC is much more focused and actually makes sense IMO.

In Texas, there is not a second test. When you apply for the LPC-A, you take the NCE and the Texas Jurisprudence Exam (pass/fail). All you need to level up to LPC is the completion of your required, supervised hours.

I am on try #3. First two exams were NCMHCE. Both times missed it by 1 point. Thinking about trying the NCE this time. I took the CPCE a shorter version of the NCE in college and passed greatly on the first time.

Are you working to become an LPC or are you already one?

NCE is required to become an LPC and if you want to become independent than NCMHCE is required
@TheAuthenticAppeal Жыл бұрын
Can you explain what you mean by being independent? & the second test?
@allyssapowers Жыл бұрын
Sure. So when you graduate you can take the NCE and once you pass you are an LPC, this means you still need to be supervised and get a certain amount of hours before you are independently licensed (don't need supervision and you can panel with insurance companies are the main differences). So once you have the right amount of hours and have been and LPC for at least two years you can take the NCMHCE and once you pass that you are an LPCC! Hope that makes sense.
@TheAuthenticAppeal Жыл бұрын
@@allyssapowers yes this explanation was very helpful! Is this dependent on the state or applies everywhere? I didn’t know it was a test to take after completing your clinical hours.
