Just ordered those parts [8/14/19] $12 for the valve on Ebay and $17 for the reservoir on Amazon. Free shipping on both. Only been putting up with this problem for 17 years. Many thanks.

Thanks, just a tip before you start. I replaced the reservoir and check valve, same problem. Changed the dashboard console, same thing...found the white vacuum line had been knocked off the blend door actuator by the passengers feet. Might save someone all the trouble. Cant believe it was something so simple OR that no-one else mentioned this problem.

Same happened to me. Only discovered it after I finally just listened for the leak and located the dislodged line near the passenger footwell. Gotta bunch of uselessly new parts in meantime. Oh well.

Hey man! Just did this exact fix on my 2004 E450 V10. Same exact parts and everything. Works perfect and fixed an issue I’ve been putting off for over a year! Took me 30 min after watching your video. Thanks for doing this!! You rock dude!
@mbrundrett695 жыл бұрын
good fix. i had this same issue. the cold one helped thanks for that tip. however i found the grommet that comes through the heater box under the passenger side dash is the perfect spot to run the new line. i taped a string to the old hose and pulled it through. then from inside taped that to the new hose and pulled it up through the engine compartment and attached it to the red hose. basically replaced the hose with 3 feet of new hose. the old check valve came up with the old line, and i relocated that under the dash with the new vacuum tank. Thank you for this video it helped a lot.

I have a 1998 Ford E-350 Club Wagon with V-8 gas engine. I developed a leak in at my vacuum reservoir or line and it was hidden under my blower/coil unit which is totally inaccessible. I disconnected the line from the vacuum control valve leading to the old reservoir and installed my new factory Ford reservoir under my battery tray with a bolt. The vacuum port comes out straight down from the top of the battery about 11 inches. I literally left everything else in place. I liked it so much better than the reroute here. I didn't have anything to go by when I did this project.

I fixed mine similarly a couple years ago. I used a reservoir from a 99 jeep cherokee parts vehicle since myFord van reservoir is square and has a seam which is the weak point and the original only lasted 7 years so I figured the round seamless one from a cherokee would last forever and it’s been perfect now since 2014.

What I keep trying to figure out is, where is the original break in the tubing that stops vacuum from working? I've checked and checked, it was working till I did new plugs and coils and now suddenly it's not working. The reservoir is nothing more than a sealed plastic box with a nipple. It shouldn't be broken. It's crazy this happens and new vac hose should make it new again. Thanks for the video. Good job.

This makes me nervous that people call it a wire. Wouldn't that be called a vacuum hose I know that you probably know what you're talking about but then again makesme a little hesitant. I already can easily screw things up lol
@lookingbehind63352 жыл бұрын
Wow…..lucky for you he didn’t identify it as a line instead of wire. That might have sent your nerves ticks into full on cardiac arrest. People got the point and were able to save themselves hundreds of dollars. I’m sure they appreciate him even if he didn’t use proper terminology.
@SarethNolan2 жыл бұрын
@@lookingbehind6335 well gee I guess it's just because my AC had much more problems than yours did or his did. I didn't get this van by choice technically it was picked out for me. Kind of a here have a van now get the fuck out of my house. So far I probably think about two grand into it not just the AC but everything there is but mostly part of the cooling system considering that it was mud. Having zero refrigerant in it has been fun to learn about learning how to use manifold gauges. And plus I just like to be a smart-ass it makes me sound smart and like an asshole. I don't mind that.
