Ma'am I want to ask you that you told that the inner core is solid and outer core is liquid in nature. But the temperature of inner core is higher than outer core. So how it is possible that inner core is solid and outer core is liquid??? According to the temperature both should be liquid in nature...
@Examrace4 жыл бұрын
Very good question. . Most materials, including iron and nickel which form the core of the earth, change from liquid to solid at lower temperatures and/or higher pressures. For almost all materials (except water), atoms are packed closer together in the solid state than in the liquid state. Simply stated, squeezing atoms together with high pressure the material changes from liquid to solid. Going deep in the Earth both temperature and pressure increases. Although the inner core is very hot, it is solid because it is experiencing very high pressure. The pressure in the outer core is not high enough to make it solid.

Madam why the volume of mantle is higher than core as the radius of core is greater than mantle
@ParthSinghal50114 жыл бұрын
The mantle's thickness is about 2900 km - so if you consider the Earth's core as one big thing, then the core is the “thickest layer” (though has a bigger radius is probably a better way of saying it) - but the idea of a separate outer and inner core is generally accepted. hello nandini this side........
