A few helpful things in case you're still using this info for your church or for others learning from this great video. 1. PAFL is used to monitor your 0 level. It's how set your gain for each channel making each one have the same level on board. If you PAFL and use gain properly, when every inst/vox is at their loudest, they should all be at 0 on your monitor. This allows you to have precise control over your mix. 2. Compression is for loud AND quiet signal. It brings up quiet and brings down loud. So your description of gates is inaccurate. 3. A gate has nothing to do with volume, but time. It allows a signal, once triggered to come through the system for the amount of time you allow with the attack, threshold and release (typically only used for individual drums). If you are using compression and gain properly, it is impossible for your board to peak. 4. Your gain changes the amount of signal being sent to the avioms/ME1's. If the tech at any point after sound check, changes the gain, it will throw off everyones in-ear mix.

Thanks for this really helpful info! Unfortunately, we have been unable to do the rerecording we were hoping to do, so information like you've given down here in the comments is great to make sure that correct information is out there. We really appreciate your input!

Our church recently got this board (well the larger GLD-112 model) and your video is one of the most practical getting started tutorials I've found on KZbin so far. The Allen & Heath videos are good, but more tailored to the technical aspects of the board, rather than a practical use of it. Thanks so much!

Thank you for this Video, extremely helpful!, Question: Can i have 2 usb flash drives in at once? One for playing pre-service music, the second set up to record the service. or can it only handle 1 usb at a time? Thank you again!!!
@timothyschutz7 жыл бұрын
I believe you can... I never needed to have more than 1 at a time, since we were playing off the computer for pre-service music. Sorry for the delayed reply.

God bless you. This video is very helpful. we've just got the gld 80 and I am having some dificulties in applying the FX for a vocal mic. I have watched most of the videos on you tube, but they dont give much details on this issue. Could you give me some ideas on how to apply the FX. Thank you brother.

Sorry for the delayed reply. If you are still having trouble applying the effects after taking the normal steps, I am afraid I wouldn't be much help. Sorry, and hope you have figured out a solution.

Also, I would need to daisy chain two GLD-AR2412 in order to get 48 channels... Can I use the second GLD-AR2412's dSnake as a splitter to send the same channels to another mixer? I hope my question makes sense.

Buddy, what is all of the stuff on your waist/belt and in your pockets?
@EvergreenmediaproductionsTN9 жыл бұрын
+7thStoneMedia, there was a phone and multitool on the belt, and a pocket knife in the pocket (must-haves for any media team member). The leather pouch is a Wilderness Pouch from the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship (FCF). FCF is a service branch of the Royal Rangers ministry, which works to develop elite members of the ministry through primitive camping and frontier skills. The pouch is to be carried to Royal Ranger events for several months prior to a member's advancement to the highest rank in the group. The bag holds items important to the Frontiersman, and symbolic of the Christian walk. You can find out more at www.NationalFCF.com.

can you set up monitor mixes and a foh mix with only one mixer if so how many monitor mixes
@timothyschutz7 жыл бұрын
Yes. I would direct you to the instruction manual for details on how to set them up, and how many you can do. We were running 3 at the most, but the board probably could do more.

Hi Fey, I'm afraid I don't have a good explanation to give you on how to do this. I would recommend you check the official materials from Allen and Heath to get that info.

Hi i am saikat I want to know how i add plugin in gld 80 digital console.
@EvergreenmediaproductionsTN7 жыл бұрын
Hi Saikat, unfortunately, we don't have either the knowhow to give instruction in adding plugins to the board, nor the access to this board to determine whether any information we would be giving would be accurate. I would encourage you to take a look at Allen & Heath's user manuals and training guides for that information. Thanks for checking out the video!
