I always felt like sasori was tortured by his depression and his failure to remove his emotions thus never actually being a puppet. This made him suicidal but he was extremely proud as well. That’s why he saw granny chio as an opportunity to properly die and never intended on killing her. Or at the very least being able to die with one of the people he cherished most.

You let me down not mentioning that Sasori also hated to be kept waiting cause he waited for his parent to come back and they never did, so when he was kept waiting to long he would think something they died. (Hated Orchimaru who never came back, SUPER anger everytime Deidera left him waiting, also why he liked poison. Works fast and does the work for him so you don’t have to wait on him)

Something I think is funny is the way I perceive Sasori, Itachi and Hidan's interactions within the Akatsuki. Sasori must be horrified by Itachi's actions. You grow up in a loving (by Narutoverse standards anyway) home with both parents and you kill them? Whereas Hidan is everything he wants to be: invulnerable and eternal. But Hidan would see Sasori as an abomination because he spends his whole life trying to avoid pain. He's a heathen of the highest order. On the other hand, Itachi is the best example of Hidan's "kill thy neighbor" ethos in the entire series. And of course Itachi the Pacifist probably can't stand Hidan's entire... Hidaness, but I could see him holding some respect for Sasori's craft.

Sasori was arguably the 4th strongest of the akatsuki. Without Sakura or Tsunade you WILL die from his poison. He can attack from every angle, be effective both close and long range, and could access powerful kekkei genkai in the 3rd kazekage. Nagato, Konan, and Obito are the only ones of the akatsuki that would be safe.

The thing is, the kazekage puppet was stronger than the original 3rd kazekage because we could see sasori kill the 3rd multiple times, but in order to defeat an edo tensei you need to seal it away. Sasori wasn't aware of that so the only thing he could do was attack him, which didn't work out in his favor because the 3rd was coming back to life over and over again. Overall, I believe that the puppet version of the kazekage is stronger since it has secret weapons, poison and the iron sand as opposed to the original 3rd kazekage who has got only the iron sand.

i still think that sasori should have placed his core inside a durable internal mechanism one sealed with teleportation jutsu that could travel from cavity-to-cavity instead of putting it in an obvious location where the heart would be. Think hiruko but smaller, and modify his puppets such that every one has this cavity built in so transferring said core would be even easier and safer and ultimately make more sense then basically having a heart fused to his brain that can emmit chakra strings and move autonamously. that's cool but super risky

I think there are some important points that were not considered about Sasori's story in your video that I find veery interesting. (I'm sorry if this gets a little too long, but these are points that I think are very important, and Sasori is my favorite character, so i felt the need to speak about it) The first is about a crucial point in this whole isolation situation and his personality. Grandma Chiyo (as shown in the anime and in my opinion) was very neglectful of her grandson. Of course, one must take into account the extreme grief she was going through, and the stress of the war. I'm not blaming her for that. But the fact is, she made the trauma worse by making Sasori wait for his parents, who would never come. At no point in the anime is shown her talking to him about it, so it COULD be that this was never done and he only found out for himself after days, or weeks, or months, that they weren't coming back. Always having hope one day after another, and feeling this hope die little by little. During the episodes, it is also possible to see how much Chiyo depended on the puppets to show affection towards Sasori. But that way of showing is as cold as puppets. There were no words of comfort, or actions of affection and love. It's as if Sasori grew up thinking that love was the art of puppetry, because that's what he was shown. The second thing is a theme that I see as very important, mainly because it refers to classic Naruto, it's original themes, and Naruto's fight against Zabuza. Sasori is a child of war and a ninja. He grew up with that same mentality that people are just weapons. His parents were weapons, his friends were weapons, he was a weapon. This first season of Naruto Shippuden for me is incredible because, even before the fight, we see this recurring theme in the plot and in how grandma Chiyo sees the world. The coldness of the shinobi. How vulnerability makes you weaker. This reaffirms the idea that ninjas can't be like that. And that, along with everything that was said in the video, made Sasori become the best ninja he could be: No feelings, no weaknesses, a weapon that can always be improved. The beauty of his story is that at least he didn't become a puppet of some great country, he took control and became the puppet master of himself. And at the end of the fight, through SAKURA and Sasori initially, not Naruto, Chyio begins to see how wrong she was about so much. She sees in her grandson where her way of thinking was leading people towards. Naruto just finished this journey when he shows her that Shinobi aren't weapons, because when you treat them like this, you end up turning people that you love into "true" Shinobis. (Anyways, just too be clear, I LOVED the way you portrait his story, you brought a vision of isolation and the dangers of that to the present day, and I was really moved by that. So thank you so so much for the video).

Thank you for explaining how Chiyo made many mistakes with the whole Sasori situation. She herself says to Kankuro and herself that she only did mistakes in her entire life and regrets the past so much. Seeing her dead grandchild as a puppet must hurt so much... She did mistakes and realized them but it was too late and Sasori already left the village. ( That whole realisation of her mistakes and talking to Kankuro happened in a Filler episode but I really wanted to point that out because it didn't happen in the video)

I think it's worth mentioning that Sasori's service in the Third Shinobi World War could easily be seen as his revenge against the Leaf Village. Despite the Sand Village being on the defensive and the Leaf Village ultimately getting favorable peace terms, Sasori's nickname "of the Red Sand" came from supposedly killing so many ninja that the Sand turned red. Many of the puppets he had that used to be humans came from this period of the war, and there's even a brief shot in the fight against Chiyo/Sakura of a puppet with a sharingan, implying that he killed a talented Uchiha shinobi at some point.

What saddens me about Sasori, is that i feel we should have seen him actively use his puppets more strategically. Not simply just wield 100 puppets at once to overwhelm his opponents, but wield puppets in a complimentary fashion, similar to Chiyo and her 10 puppets. Imagine seeing Hiruko and The 3rd Kazekage being used at the same time (magnet release from the 3rd and the weapons arsenal from Hiruko)...maybe even Hiruko with another puppet, or the 3rd with another puppet...or even the 3rd with Sasori's own body...so many endless options that would have probably given him a higher seat in the Akatsuki based on power ranking...

ya pretty much people dont seem to understand how dangerous sasori is. theres 3 main ways to beat sasori without dying to his venom/poison. 1 nuke him befor he can do anything(but this is a battle anime/manga so good luck with that). 2 have a body that does not breath or have an active blood flow so his venom/poison wont affect you. 3 have a anti-venom ready befor the fight(if your names not sakura or tsunade good luck with that).

3:49 that's only true of 2-7, who aren't main characters. Gara was Naruto's parallel so Shukaku was written to be a blood thirsty demon about as strong as Naruto until the time skip of course. Shukaku was like the evil version of Kurama until he got redeemed. The 8 tails is also like this- rampaging and causing havoc until a kage saved him. So it should be, 9, 8 or 1 (I think 8), 7-2.

Thanks for actually defining the fight between Sasori, Chiyo & Sakura. Too many people take the fights in Naruto at face value and its so fking frustrating cause they're not trying to take in any meaning they're just like "Omg a fight is about to go down" *after a few episodes* "Dude that fight sucked. They could've dodged it and they just took it." Meanwhile the actual reason they didn't dodge is cause they couldn't live with themselves after they did a specific action [like killing a kid cause they miscalculated their own attack or something]
