Ya know, I’m Grievous’s defense, whenever he goes up against a Jedi and he loses, it’s usually either a main character, or Jedi High Council member. The main characters are very skilled, *coughPlotArmorcough* And the Jedi High Council members are the best of the Jedi. So that’s why he loses in the show. We just don’t have enough scenes of Grievous taking down Jedi.

I know this is a joke, but I think the real reason Vader never learned Force Lightning is a lot more interesting than the joke so I want to share it. Palpatine had Vader's suit built to be extremely weak to Force Lightning to use as insurance against Vader ever being able to overthrow him, so Vader could never use it or else he'd kill himself. That's also why he died just from throwing the Emperor down the shaft in Return of the Jedi.
