Well considering Cote left two days before filming started, they had 5 eps already written. They had take out any arc that included Ziva. They had two days before eps 1, and another few after that to re-write eps 2. They did the best they could under those circumstances

NCIS and CIS are interesting shows but "realistic" like STAR TREK because in reality agents newer go on by own in action while against and overtake house,warehouse, anything.... in reality they called big (police&army)backup even it is not some big deal!! i watch few documentary when SWAT team from 20-30 guys with full armed equipment go on house where some granny probably could give resistance with some shotgun !!! but in CSI and NCIS shows two or three agents constantly disarmed larger numbers of criminals or go on them without some help ...,
