Loved the episode! Deeks is awesome! One thing that I don't understand, though, is why his mother wasn't listed as his next of kin? At first I thought that maybe she died but that's obviously not true as she appeared in later episodes? So why didn't he put her down as next of kin?

My theory is that he's always tried to protect her and doesn't think she would do well in a hospitol having to make those decisions if something were to happen. Also she may be far away which isn't great in an emergency. When spoilers alert, Kensy was in the coma and his mom was there she kept saying stuff about the nurses and doctors that were offensive so would have annoyed them even more if it was deeks in trouble. May also be that he wasn't in touch with her at the time given how much undercover work he did, didn't want to risk her safety so kept her away when he wasn't sure how often he'd be in contact.
