Tony was THEE best part of this show. Period. And by evidence of how weak it became after his departure....it shows. He was the heart, the "wild card" edginess, and just gave the show that certain "thing". It was lighting in a bottle.

It took me by surprise when I began to cry as Tony said goodbye to all his colleagues at the end of series 13. Was surprised just how sad I was at his eventual departure

I just took it in. Tony says to Gibbs, "you asked if I wanted to be an agent anymore", but this time, I heard Michael say to Mark, " you asked if I wanted to play Tony anymore, if I needed to move on. I'm going to move on. I'm moving on to Jason Bull".

I have been asked why I like this show so much. People were confused because I'm not really into Police Procdurals. I mean, they're fine and all but I'm not really into them. So...NCIS. First of all, it's not really a Police Procedural; it is partially that but much more. However, what genera to which it belongs is NOT why it is one of my favs. It is the writing, especially the character development! I have read articles that said "Tony is..." add simplistic, singular character aspect. Perhaps more than anyone else in this show, Tony is completely fleshed out as a character! Gibbs is totally cool (and pretty much my favorite) but he is more Archetype than regular character. He is well done but more in a Joseph Campbell, hero kind of way. Tony is first and foremost, a person! The entire show spends more time on character than any other I can think of!
