NCL Pride of America Cruise Worth It? - Maui Day 2!

ABOUT RENTING CARS WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY THERE, not having reserved them in advance from the states: My experience on Maui was that none were to be found. It seemed I was a "captive audience," so no need to entice me to come there since I was already there. They saved the cars for advance reservations made by arriving airline travelers. My experience might have coincided with a some type of seasonal shortage, but don't be surprised if you encounter my result....

The destination is definitely worth it. HAWAII IS SO AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL!!! we were there before the big fire and volcano eruption. (We walked the rim of that very volcano). The ship is definitely not good. .

You did a lot of beach things. I wanted different things to see so ship trips were good for me. I did the 2 day Oahu pre trip and did a full day trip (8 am to 10 pm) on Fri as I had to see Perarl Harbo and go to the Memorial, Go to the Punch Bowl Military Cemetary) The then Dole Pineapple Hut, This is where I did my Luau And several other stops, including a stop to watch the sun set. This was on an 8 - 12 passanger van. Did you see the tide come in at any of the beaches? I never saw a tide before (Illinois gal) and I almost lost my beach stuff. Came in fast! Your videos are bring back great memories for me.

Where did you park your rental car overnight near the cruise port? Any issues?

You can park at the Maui Seaside Hotel right down the street and walk back to the ship. The cost was $20. You used to be able to park across from the port at Longs Drugs Store, but now they post that you will be towed.

I noticed you rented cars. I am going on Pride of America in April 2025, and I am interested in renting a car in Maui and Kauai. Where did you park the rental car overnight? Any tips you want to share about car rental?

Hi Regina, we have a links to our itinerary and the website we used to our car rentals in our LinkTree. We found a hotel that was very close to the port that allowed us to park the car over night. I believe it was around $25. linktr.ee/lovetheadventure
