Id assume there 2 more things going on, 1. theres a lot of fans whose priority is to be remembered by the idols, so they pull stunts that they think will be memorable, even if embarassing. 2. Better to embarrass yourself "on purpose" while doing a "funny" stunt than to do it because you were just too nervous to interact with them.
