It really isn't that surprising that the members of NCT struggle with keeping all the languages they speak straight. Most of the members on average speak about 4 or 5 different languages and they are often switching back and forth between languages multiple times a day, and even often within one conversation. For example, Ten speaks Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin, and he is learning Japanese, so depending on who he is speaking with, he could be speaking multiple languages within the same conversation. NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong (So his native language is Cantonese), YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). There are 13 members who aren't even from Korea and 11 of them have no Korean heritage.
