The reason why Chen and Xiumin have Chinese sounding stage names is because EXO used to be split into EXO-M(andarin) and EXO-K(orean). They had 12 members but only 4 were Chinese (Lay, Tao, Luhan, Kris Wu) so to split them evenly 2 Korean members had to be in the Chinese unit and those were Chen and Xiumin. Hope this clears it up :) Also when I say that they were split into these 2 units that doesn’t mean that they were always separated, that’s not the case, they were active as one whole group most of the time! Btw Chanyeol played the main character in the Chinese movie So I Married an Anti-Fan (it kind of was a Korea-China collaborative film I think) in 2016! He also starred in a few Korean shows and movies like Missing 9, Memories of the Alhambra and The Box.

Ah someone in the comments mentioned EXO-SC (and EXO-CBX) but that would be perfect because EXO-SC is an EXO (soft hip hop is what I call it) sub-unit of Chanyeol and Sehun so there's Lenny's EXO bias and Kate's EXO husband 😂 Their mvs for Telephone, Closer To You, 1 Billion views and What a Life are so fun! They also have short mvs for "Nothin" which is by only Chanyeol and "On Me" by only Sehun which I always thought was cool because if you put both titles together it reads "Nothin On Me" like that's smooth lol EXO-CBX is another fun EXO subunit with Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin. They have mvs for "Hey Mama", "Blooming Day" (that dance practice is so good) and they have short mvs for Japanese singles "Horololo" and "Ka-Ching" and they also made a VCR titled "The One" before CBX were officially a subunit but it counts because it's hilarious, seriously 😂

You also can check out D.O. live singing his latest solo song in It's Live - he sang two of his latest songs from his album, the title track 'Somebody' and 'I do'. If you want to see a different side of him singing song covers live, you can try to watch Lee Mujin Service. He of course sang his title track for the promo, then he also did the cover for Ed Sheeran's 'Supermarket Flowers' and James Arthur's 'Falling Like a Stars'.

Thank you for reacting. Japan based is like WayV that promotes/caters to Chinese audience. NCT New Team (non official name) will mostly promote to Japanese so yes they will sing mostly Japanese just like they did on this song. I'm glad I can tell the difference between the languages their all uniquely their own in one way or another but I can see how it could sound similar too. 2 of the 6 memebers are Korean Sion & Daeyoung. Riku, Sakuya, Ryo, & Yushi are Japanese.

NCT New Team is a new unit of NCT. This name is a temporary name and will be changed upon debut. has 6 members, 4 Japanese and 2 Korean. based in Japan and sings Japanese songs. The song "Hands Up" is also in Japanese. Namely SION DAEYOUNG (KOR) and YUSHI RYO SAKUYA RIKU (JPN) And for anyone who dont know and want to know about NCT. NCT U doesn't have a permanent number of members because every member can release music under the name nct u. They use the name nct u because it is an abbreviation of the word ‘United’ which means that all nct can come and release songs together as we have seen such as nct u boss, nct u make a wish. nct 127 is a group with permanent members and currently has 9 members even though in the past they increased and decreased the number of people from 7 to 10 to 9 but now they r permanent with 9 and they will always release music with 9 members. In fact, it can happen with SM's newly debuted groups that there will be additional members like Red Velvet (4 then 5) (only in the 1-2 years) because the company may still want to add more members to make the group as complete as possible. NCT Dream is currently a permanent group as well. In the past, they were a graduate system group when a member reaches the age of 20, they graduate (leaving the group). But now they r permanent with 7 members and 2 members along with NCT 127(Mark and Haechan) WayV currently has 6 members (used to be 7 but Lucas left) based in China, and has main songs in Chinese. and when all 26 nct members come together They will use that year after nct such as nct 2018 nct 2020
