Jungwoo started training around 2015 or so and trained with most of the core NCT members. He was basically the most well known hidden trainee back then and would attend SM Rookies shows in a mask and also help distribute gifts to the fans there. Sungchan started training around 2016 or 2017, even before Xiaojun, Yangyang, and Hendery came to SM. Jungwoo was also close with Sungchan and WayV during training while he was waiting to be added into NCT. Sungchan said that by the time he was chosen to debut in NCT in 2020, he was already the oldest trainee left.

Shotaro became a trainee in 2019 so he only trained with Sungchan, but Sungchan became a trainee in 2016 when NCT debuted and trained with Jungwoo and all of WayV. I think he became a trainee like even before some WayV members.

The fact Taeyong is the best artist in Kpop now. He deserves all the best things and respectability from NCT’s fans or KPOP fans. 🌹 He trainer and help NCT members a lots when they were a trainee and the beginning debut. Taeyong is the wonderful leader center of KPOP. I wish he will has his own awards for his talents, visual and his sacrifice for members.

Even when taeyong training is not allowed to make mistakes, if the other trainees can earn 100, taeyong must earn 101. Taeyong was strong, prepared to take the lead in the first place. And it's not easy to lead a group that has too many members, especially since the NCT will continue to have more members next year.

taeyong is a magnificent leader, so many leaders in the industry and he definitely stands out. i agree, he’s very vocal, looks out for his members not only physically (when they get hurt/need help with something) but mentally as well which in my opinion should be a very important factor within a leader since there’s others looking up to them. anywho, thank you for reacting guys, i hope to see more videos of taeyong with each individual neo because they’re definitely his kids haha

Never underestimate his power. This is the biggest mistake of all who do not know him. One word and it will be the Law. He is beautiful but it's just like a bonus . He was chosen as leader for a reason. I wish him strength and health

Taeyong really is an incredible leader and he bears the weight of so much pressure, NCT's saftey, their comfort and their success. And when things go wrong he's one of the first people blamed or having to deal with the criticisms and it sucks to see that part, but I really love and admire his strength and determination to be that pillar of support for everyone. And on top of being a fantastic leader, he works on his own music and is killing it! I really hope you guys check out his soundcloud music it's so good! To answer your question about if Sungchan and other new members trained with them as trainees before joining NCT, for the most part yes! Sungchan was a trainee in SM for years and was friends with Jungwoo even before Jungwoo debuted. He hung out with the predebut WayV members often and was even apart of some of their well known trainee adventures (the coke in the water dispenser event lol). Shotaro not as much because he joined SM in the same year he debuted in NCT. He only met Sungchan and maybe some other trainees before joining the group. He met all of NCT for the first time when they were filming content for NCT 2020. Xiaojun, Hendery, Yangyang, and Jungwoo were all SM Rookies and trainees that were revealed to fans before joining NCT and they had spent a good amount of time in the company before that. The new SM Rookies (Shohei, Eunseok, and Seunghan) that have been announced that are likely going to be joining NCT have also been in SM for a long time and they also knew Jungwoo from trainee days. New members don't necessarily have to be younger than everyone to join btw (Shohei is a 96 liner and is likely joining soon) and even though Sungchan and Shotaro are the same age range as the Dreamies they were still older than Jisung and joined later, so age isn't really a factor, new members and new units is mostly based of when SM is ready to move forward with their plans.

NCT trainee era - same era with EXO : Johnny - same era with Red Velvet : SM Rookies 13 member - Jungwoo is hidden member. He trained with SM Rookies. Same era with Kun & Lucas. - Sungchan, other WayV member trained together era (remember the Coca Cola accident) - Jungwoo & WayV debut. So Sungchan trained with new trainee as leader. - Shotaro join SM in 2020

This boy is unreal. He has so much burden on his shoulders yet he's doing amazingly great. I hope he's mentally okay tho. Being a leader is hard but being the leader of NCT is even harder. SM has pressured him a lot for the group success and I don't know how he hasn't fallen down yet. You can tell he is mentally strong and a great leader cause the members naturally gravitate towards him. Being proud of him is an understatement. Taeyong deserves the universe and more. He indeed is a great leader but also a great human being, so sweet and selfless 💚

Thank you so much for reacting to this! Taeyong is such an amazing leader that doesn't get appreciated enough. He has immense pressure on his shoulders leading this team. Some managers/staff during the beginnings of nct only added to that. It's not a secret that nct didn't do as well as expected in the beginning and some managers said things like 'If this team fails it's your fault etc. I can't even imagine how that must have felt. Taeyong deserves so much support and respect from nctzens for all the work he does behind the scenes. Sadly not everybody sees all the things taeyong does for the team (looking specifically at the "fans" that like to deny that taeyong is the leader of the whole of nct even though it has been confirmed a bunch of times) and that's probably partially the reason why videos like this exist. So I'm really grateful you took the time to learn more about Taeyongs leadership :)

Initially, NCT's concept was unlimited members/units. Meaning there was supposed to be new members added to NCT as a whole but most will have fixed units such as 127, WayV, and now Dream and NCT Japan. We can see this from Ten, Kun, Lucas, Shotaro, and Sungchan were they debuted under NCT/NCT U and had to wait before debuting in WayV and NCT Japan. Dream's concept was graduation but the members were not guaranteed into any fixed unit after graduation, which was what fans were scared of for Renjun, Jeno, and Jaemin.

Thank you for reacting. Taeyong is definitely one of if not THE best leader out there right now. Y'all probably didn't notice it because y'all mostly check out variety content & he doesn't really feel the need to be the leader at that time when their's other bright personalities who can shine at that time like Jungwoo, Doyoung, Haechan.... He's definitely more hands on during official settings like interviews & behind the scenes especially when their practing or recording. Memebers have even said TY is scary when their training because he leads like their in the military lol but that's just because he likes perfection & knows how capabale the members are. That doesn't really mater to them tough because memebers love bubu they praise, respect, & admire him for the wonderful leader he is. Y'all also brought up an excellent point about him not only being the leader for a unit or the entire group but also the Dance leader & at times even recording. I knew this myself but I'm soo Damm proud & amazed by him even more because it makes me realize he really is the only one every other group has a different person who leads dancing, recordings... Taeyong was like nahh I got this I can lead everyone & anything. I also love how straight forward & serious he is about everything like with management especially if it affects the other neos I know some leaders can sometimes have a hard time talking about the issues but Taeyong took soo much crap from SM ever since when he was a trainee now he's the one with the power. 💚😭🙏

Taeyong has creative vision, determination, capability and kindness. He really is an incredible pillar and role model. I think you’re right-there’s very little benefit to being a leader except for additional responsibilities; the most difficult part of the job is never seen by fans (e.g. dealing with issues between members and the company). All leaders deserve more appreciation-especially Taeyong, who has shouldered the responsibility to lead this challenging NCT system with growing membership.

It always blows my mind that when Taeyong first started as a trainee, he had no dance, rap or vocal experience and their dance teacher at the time told him to quit because he would never be good enough at dancing and so Taeyong practiced non stop and kept working at it even outside of normal practice and now he’s leading their dance practice and a top dancer in Kpop as a whole and my personal favorite because he has a unique dance style and can move his body in crazy ways that makes you think he doesn’t have bones lol. I may be a little bias, but He’s honestly such an amazing person, leader, rapper, dancer, vocalist, writer… the list goes on and I feel like he’s so underrated and looked by in the Kpop industry and I hope he gets more recognition because he deserves it

True... that's fact!! fans of another members in NCT hate Taeyong, antifan SM hate TY, too :)))))) because he take a lot of spotlight and their idol don't have enough time to shine.
