I really enjoyed their debut. So many people complain about boy group releases being 'Noise music' but then turn around and criticize Wish for having a more relaxed debut song. I think it fit them really well and it was a smart move to go for a lighter tone, especially considering the preferences of the Japanese Market when it comes to idol music

I was in the live chat but obviously I'm going to comment anyway. I'm glad you liked WISH, a lot of people found it a "flat" song and I don't know what they were listening to but there's nothing flat about it. The intro is simply great, it didn't convince me at the beginning but I listened to the song without watching the MV so as not to get distracted and they completely convinced me and I continue singing that part. I also really liked Sail Away, thank you very much for your reaction

saw Yushi, also he is the group's main dancer in SMtown too last month, he really is that type of dancer who seems so effortless when dancing but still is very powerful and like he is matching his energy with the other members......like i saw the other members trying to catch their breath and Yushi is just so relax😂 He is insane😂 now I get why BoA really liked him

Agree! I watched their predebut tour in Osaka live streaming and Yushi is really REALLY GOOD. Some people may not see it, but I think he changes his style based on the song. I noticed it specifically during the Dance relay of their Lastart Songs and the details and power is just so satisfying to watch. Overall, I really love the chemistry of each members and they are so talented. I hope more ppl appreciate them

I had zero expectations with this debut tbh but I loved this song!! The layering and vocals were so good. The MV was fun and playful (and I was able to follow along with what was happening lmao unlike most kpop mvs nowadays) it was refreshing ~

Oh I'm loving Riku, love how expressive he is in performing, always seems likes he's having a good time. I know a lot of ppl are kinda not checking for them, but they seems really talented with tons of room for growth. I'm looking forward to learning more about them. I wasn't able to watch Lastart fully but did watch a lot of the clips and the talent is there. From the little variety of stuff I've seen there personalities seem really bright and they are here for a good time. Must be kinda difficult to join a really established team and people kinda hating for no reason.

saw them in person during SMtown tokyo dome last month and Yushi is tooooooo handsome, I cant even describe it... his visual is on that level with Taeyong and Wonbin❤️ His stage presence is also great during live stage❤. There is a reason he is the most popular❤ everyone who watches him in real life will agree❤ even my friend who is a new Riku biased changed to Yushi😅❤ NCT wish songs so far are so bops❤ goodluck to them❤

jaehee the main vocalist is so young he is 2005 and he train the least(i believe a few months) but he already have such a powerful voice,u can hear it clearly on his lastart performances. he is already this good at singing and with sm vocals training i just know he will become even better. i absolutely love him

BoA is also overseeing all the debut activities of this group (songs, performance etc) and her familiarity with the Japanese market is hopefully a real strength for them. Avex Trax has had various agreements with SM for many years (more than 20 years if my memory is sound) and for awhile I think Avex also owned shares in SM. Anyway, they do all the licensing and management for most if not all SM acts in Japanese, tours in Japan, publicity etc. I think they will have had some if not a lot of say in the formation of NCT Wish (but that is purely speculation). You have heard dress producing work before. He worked on UN Village for Baekhyun and both Mark's solo songs (and he worked with Mark during High School Rapper I think)

Literally her cousin was an all rounder and an amazing singer and dancer too! She became one of Morning musume's main vocal really fast (considering there was a lot of members when she arrives as a member of the 5th generation) and she is one, if not the most iconic leader they got for some years! Also Riku's sister is very great at dancing too, it really runs in the family!

i think the positioning at 6:04 is actually very normal for 6 member groups. nct dream for example when mark was gone and they were 6 members, a pyramid formation with a front and back center, the back center would be slightly off to the right or left so they still have a small window to be seen. sometimes they'll have the member be exactly behind the front center but typically they'd want all members to be seen even if it's just partial

The one in shorts that you kept mentioning in the Hands Up dance practice was Riku! He was 1st place in Lastart. I get why Wish was chosen as the title track, but Hands Up honestly had a stronger impact on me. Still, Mother Kenzie really never misses.

Riku...the one you said you like...was the front runner to me and i think lots of people in LASTART...he was always placed either 1st or 2nd...most times...Yushi and Sion and Riku were the obvious frontrunner...most times in that competition.

I really liked Hands Up. The choreography went quite well with the song and I liked the fact that they had a real bridge (albeit short). Felt light and fresh but , as you said, it also sounds very NCTesque which I appreciate. NASA is not for me but I was pleasantly surprised by WISH. Loved the vocals and I get what you said about liking the song but also feeling underwhelmed. The song reminds me of 1990s/ early 2000s kpop groups but with modern vocals and instrumentals. I can just about picture the crazy camerawork, colorful stage outfits etc à la H.O.T, S.E.S or Turbo.

Thank you for reacting to Wish!! I really appreciate how you also watched the JP ver. Not a lot of people have given that enough love. I totally agree about your comment about Jaehee not sounding as deep as he used to. I feel like they're not giving him the right kind of song and Sail Away, as much as I love it, sounds like he was changed to sound more like Baek or smtg. Btw I wanted to ask your opinion about their dancing. I know Yushi is the most clean. But how do you think Sion (the one that kept showing his tummy in hands up) compare to Riku in terms of technical level? I'm only asking out of curiosity since there's no one discussing their dancing level.

Sion seems to be the cleanest for sure, I mentioned him a few times but Riku has more of a hip hop groove and personality AND technique so he’s more enjoyable for me

I think Jaehee had mentioned before that his vocal strengths are powerful high notes and falsettos, and at the same time, he is willing to challenge his vocal abilities. That is why it feels refreshing (at least for me) to hear a different side of his singing aside from the deep singing voice he used during Lastart
