You're right. All Cameras are equipped with Infrared Filter..... In a reddish tinted transparent glass inside the camera module.... To actually turn it into an Infrared Camera, the filter must be removed.... The main purpose of that Infrared Filter is to cut down or reduce the amount of Infrared light entering the camera sensor....

In order for this to actually work, you need to remove the IR filter from your camera lens. Only issue is that you can quite easily damage your camera.

The camera is already infrared if you didn't have to open up the image sensor and remove a filter lense. What you did was make cheap IR iluminator for your phone.

the camera hes using to record has a small layer of crystal which blocks ir light or any light below than 760 nm (correc me if am wrong)

The camera he is using has a much better ir (infrared) blocking filter in the lens (as most newer cameras, including your smartphone do.) Some cheaper and/or older cameras, like the one he is using have a weak ir blocking filter in the lens if any at all. However in the front facing camera of iPhones and many other phones, even though have great quality, can still pick up the ir light from a tv remote. :)

@@ZMXFX My Pixel 2 XL (a recent smart phone at this writing) can see the infrared LED well on my remote. But then again, the remote I think uses coded "pulses" and not a full throttle beam... It certainly doesn't work as well as my security camera which also use infrared. My camera can see a room well in the dark, but all is black to my Pixel 2 XL though the infrared lights glare. So - just because you can see the infrared on your remote with your phone, realize that without taking off the filter (and risk ruining your camera) - this probably won't work as well as this video.
