I have been complaining about Microsoft's strategy wrt Windows Phone ever since WP7. Abandoning everything and starting from scratch repeatedly is bad strategy (and one of the times without an NDK). Finally I hear someone mirror those thoughts. I also complained when the iPad launched, that it was just a big iPhone. So many years later, the iPad hardware is exceptional yet held back by limited software. The iPad changed in ways Jobs didn't want it to. It eventually got the Pencil and a keyboard. But the software that limits file system interaction, forbids virtual machines, forbids most programming environments and jailbreaking becoming harder and harder makes the iPad plateau as just a consumption device and a notetaking/art device thanks to the Pencil and keyboard. The iPad could have been and could still be much much more if Apple would just let it.
