He seemed to play better in his last preseason game for the 49ers. Some say he could do the flashy things but wasn’t learning the routine parts of the offense. Cowboys might make Lance into the Charles Haley trade if the 1990s that haunted the 49ers. We’re 48ers that desperate for cap money for Bosa? It’s crazy they used 3 first rounds to go get him & traded him away for a 4th. McCarthy will try to make him another Aaron Rodgers who learns the new offense over the next couple of years.

@Travis Hanks And you're nothing more than a ASSuming dipstick. This is a HIGHLIGHT video, and yet even in this video there are a few plays of him CLEARLY going through progressions in the pocket, such as 5:32. If you watch the totality of his passing plays (there is a video here somewhere showing every one), it is CLEAR that he is capable of sitting in the pocket and going through progressions. Moreover, his offense has many pro-style concepts, and even more, had he not shown the ability to go through progressions from the pocket (WHICH HE DID), Kyle Shanahan wouldn't have drafted him. As far as exposure to pro-style football, Lance is more advanced than any QB in this draft except Jones (who saw lots of pro-style route combinations, although much fewer pro-style play-actions and tight formations). Lance's weaknesses are a general lack of experience and some mechanical issues that give him inconsistent accuracy. Playing from the pocket/going through progressions is NOT one of his weaknesses. In fact it's, relatively speaking, a STRENGTH.

I don’t like the highlights at all. There is nothing here whatsoever that shows this guy can be a good QB. Can he run? Sure. He’s fast and strong, no doubt. But if you watch these highlights, every pass is a wide open receiver. There is one rollout where his player his wide open in the end zone and he takes 3-4 steps before he finally lets the ball go. Idk, it just looks like a big strong fast guy playing against high school players who can’t tackle. I’m really hoping this was the right choice. I’m not saying he can’t do it, but I don’t see it in the highlights. I like Mac Jones efficiency in the pocket. 77% completion, 96 QBR. He just looks like a pro running the offense. I’m sure glad we still got Jimmy G. Lance will need time.

That is not how it is in the NFL. look at his highlights and just how easy literally 98% of these plays were for him to make and also how badly his team would beat teams all he needed to do was just chuck the ball deep or run without any effort because his team was just so good and the competition was too weak

It also doesn't hurt the 49ers have the top leaders in YARD AFTER CATCH (YAC) with Kittle, Aiyuk, & Deebo Samuel. My biggest worry about Lance is he also reminds me a lot of Kaepernick (The good & the bad).

Everyone needs to chill on the Trey Lance talk . The guy played high school level teams through one good season with the only powerhouse program in the conference. He should not be in this draft class no matter how good anyone thinks he can be . I was as excited to see what Lance would do after his freshman season with 0 ints but his film shows a QB who is miles behind NFL standards and who needed to stay in school and finish developing himself before he made this jump .

What I like about Trey Lance as a 9er is he seems to use his tight ends well, and who do we got as a TE? George Kittle of course, one of the best if not the best TE in the league, also he knows how to find the open guy, people saying oh hes only throwing to wide open receivers, its bcuz hes finding those wide open receivers, also hes a great runner physical, hesa big guy 6'4 226 well built to handle the hits over the course of an NFL season tho he cant be running as wild at the top level game to avoid injuries, and he has a strong arm and is fairly accurate from what I saw on his pro day. Wilson as good as he looked, to me is high risk bcuz of his much smaller build, to me hes like another J. Manziel and we all know what happened with him at the NFL level, jack shit. I believe we should g for Lance let him sit a yr behind JG and let him take the reigns next year or if JG gets hurt this yr AGAIN then let him take over for good from there
