There’s just so many different variables it makes it easy to forget something. Different rods and gear for different fish, different kayaks and with the Hobie there’s detachable components I can’t forget. Half of the stuff I leave in my truck while half of it has to come out after each trip. I had my anchor stake sitting in one of the grooves on the bottom of my Tarpon which was sitting upside down in the garage so it’s easy to look right past it and forget if I switch it up and take the Hobie.

I think the rocks and concrete hold in heat from the sun rays and that's why the fish hold tight to it plus it's the perfect place to get out the current and ambush food. Great video any day the sun is out or the weather is nice is a great day to be on the water. For us diehard fisherman any day is a good day to be on the water my favorite time to drift the river for steelhead is in a blizzard because most of the time you have the river to yourself.

Thanks for another great fishing adventure. I fish in a northern Wisconsin Vilas County lake. And it's similar to a lake you fish in. There is large mouth bass, pan fish, pike and musky and crappie. But no small mouth sad face, but I manage fine with catching large mouth. I just recently ordered a few top lures and can't wait to try a whopper plopper 75. I normally do fine wacky rigging the large mouth. And I also recently broke down and spent 200 on a Daiwa set up. Good luck to you fishing this season

Probably a weird question, but what pants do you recommend for kayak fishing in the summer? Completely scorched my legs over the weekend when I was out on the water for a few hours
@ndyakangler7 ай бұрын
I like the Columbia silver ridge stretch pants. The little bit of stretch is nice for getting in and out of the kayak and climbing around rough terrain, and the synthetic fabric dries fast. I’m not sure if they still make them, I bought like six pairs when Amazon had them cheap and have used them for several years now. Last I checked they had a newer version that didn’t have the zipper cargo pocket like mine.

There’s always some algae rising up off the river bottom this time of year. We just didn’t get much snow over the winter and no spring flood to flush it all through. There was about 40cfps moving through this river when I was there last week, normally this time of year it’s somewhere between 500-1,200cfps. The wind was stronger than the current and those spots the wind was blowing into had a bunch of green stuff piling up.
