Great reaction again. As has been said, this song is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday - but 15 is also a significant age in Japan as it marks the end of compulsory education and the first big life decision of continuing with further education or starting a career - or whatever else. The girl in the song is appreciating the first 15 years of her life have passed by so quickly, she will no longer be considered as a child and things will never be the same, so she is etching this special night of her 15th into her heart so she will never forget. This concert (Legend 1997 in December 2013) was the day after Su-metal's 16th birthday, they first recorded the song when she was still only 14, so it is not autobiographical, but she could surely relate given she was already performing at metal concerts by then and a big part of the storyline that ran throughout the Legend 1997 concert was Su-metal's transformation, giving up her life and existence as the J-Pop Idol singer Suzuka Nakamoto to be reborn as the Metal Goddess Su-metal, chosen to lead the Metal Resistance. (They do have a lot of lore, so their shows are more than just music concerts). I see the two final songs from Legend 1997 - 'Akatsuki' unfinished and 'BABYMETAL Death' - have been recommended already. If you react to them next then perhaps 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More, For Ever) live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK could be next - that was their first major event on their first trip outside of Asia and where they had 25 minutes to try to win over a potentially hostile crowd of 50-60,000 UK metalheads. IDZ was the last song of their set - you can see and hear at the end how they did.

When you watch "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" Sonisphere 2014, remember to watch until the end. It's important. In fact you should always watch their videos until the end. The show is not always over when the singing stops; like in this video with the gong.

A lot of the songs have props too. This one has that Freddie Mercury half-mic stand, Megitsune has a fox mask, Su wears a cape for Akatsuki, Flags for RoR...they are really *really* good at presenting a memorable, compelling visual spectacle that you can't help but want to participate in. So much thought and effort from everyone involved.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance (and still 2 more) ? In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 03:44. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!" (addressed to crybabies in the metal concert). This crowd's shout in Japanese occurs wherever BM goes on this planet and whenever Su-Metal turns her mic towards audiences. Of course it did in 2019 US tour (20 gigs) and 2020 EU/UK/Russia tour (17 gigs). Last year 2021, eight years after this video, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times at the venue and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 I was thrilled when they brought 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' back during the 2019 tour, and I was finally able to see it live at the LA Forum concert. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when the single and video were first released. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was on stage, rather than taking the train to see concerts like the girl in the song. : ) There's a fair amount of complicated wordplay in the song, like "ichigo" meaning "15" (1+5), "strawberry", and "once in a lifetime", but essentially it's about the ephemeral nature of youth. And hanging on to those moments that will never come again. The music video is also definitely worth while. There are really only a handful of BABYMETAL music videos with stories, rather than concert footage. And as you've seen, they really shine at their live shows. This 'Legend 1997' concert was held on December 21st, 2013, the day after Su's 16th birthday. (1997 was her birth year)

Thanks for this second reaction. (music) press photographers have said: the girls, now ladies, in Babymetal are the most photogenic artists they've had in front of their camera's ever, even during a live performance. Snap a bunch of photos in quick succession similar fashion like a sports photographer would do action shots, their are always usable photos in a bunch. Even almost all regular photos are usable. They have a stage presence, they also have what some might call X-factor or whatever. And they really know how to present their selves. They clearly feel completely at home on stage and have a passion to perform and entertain like no other. The grown ups around them are always impressed by how professional and hard working they are. Babymetal started at age 11 and 12 and at age 15 and 16 they were already touring the world. An age when they also had school and school in Japan takes a lot of hours compared to most western countries. Maybe the reason is because Babymetal isn't the first thing they did in entertainment, Suzuka started at age 3, Yui at age 6 and Moa at age 7 or 8. And in that first world tour they were performing on big stages at metal festivals and seeing other big metal/rock acts perform at those festivals (and doing home work, press, training at those festivals as well), but also opening for Lady Gaga. Before that they were also growing and doing bigger and bigger shows in Japan. The growth of Babymetal in popularity has been much more than their height 🙂

Welcome back to Babymetal's "foxhole". As you noticed there's lots going on at a Babymetal concert, I think of it as a cross between a Broaday show and a rock concert. The band is thrashing while Moa and Yui rev the crowd up and get them involved and Su is imperious in the middle. If you want to hear more of Su's singing listen to some of her solos. Actually the song after this one in the concert is a Su solo called "Unfinished Akatsuki" and it is amazing, she sings it from where she falls to the ground after hitting the gong and I recommend you react to it next. This concert is Legend 1997 and was performed in late 2013 the day after Su's 16th birthday. You will see "Happy Birthday" written on the bassist head as Su climbs the stairs at the end. Headbanger is a bittersweet coming of age story about a 15 year old school girl going to a concert and braving the mosh pit, while knowing the freedom of the moment won't last long and vowing to remember the night and the feelings. It's used to celebrate BM birthdays and both Yui and Moa have taken the lead in it for their birthdays. In this concert it celebrates Su's birthday and along with the following songs of "Unfinished Akatsuki" and "Babymetal DEATH" tells the story of how Su is chosen by the Fox God and transformed into a metal goddess.

Eeyyy, band kids represent! Headbanger is a song about a 15-year-old girl going to her first heavy metal concert and having a great time; it also uses some clever wordplay to acknowledge the transience of such experiences. It's my personal favorite song of theirs, though fans' favorites vary wildly. This was the third-to-last song at the Legend 1997 show, which was a special show for the lead singer Su's 16th birthday and told a bit of a story about her transforming from a pop idol to a metal singer. I would _highly_ recommend checking out the next two songs from this show, Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.) and Babymetal Death. The first will demonstrate Su's impressive vocal range a little more, while the second will give you an idea of just how incredible Babymetal's stage shows are. I'll leave links to good uploads of those performances in a reply comment; please use those links if you do them, because they played intro videos that gave context for the story they were trying to tell, and most of the popular uploads don't have English subs for those videos.

One thing you'll start to notice is the masterful control they have over the audience. It's incredible honestly. This song showcases it well as Yui and Moa jump with their arms up and the literal entire crowd all the way to the back row does it with them. I can't even imagine what it'd be like to experience a show of theirs in Japan back then. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of shows, and I've never seen anything remotely close to this level of participation. You could charge a Tesla with all the energy in there. ⚡️

The singer is really really really good. She started doing Anime music around age 7, attended music and acting school for years. The producer noticed her at one of her Anime Bands (Karen Girls) concerts, saw how powerful she was and formed BabyMetal around her. At age 12, BabyMetal was her 4th band. Total PRO...

You commented a couple times about Su's voice. If you haven't seen them, you may want to check out Rondo of Nightmare or No Rain No Rainbow which are Su solos.I think she has at least 4 solos, i just recall the other two off hand. I don't like saying one song is favored over another, but I can say this if my favorite version of this song (based on versions I have seen). I think my second favorite is the one they call moa-banger where Moa sings part of the song on her 20th birthday. They even change the lyrics to say 20, instead of 15 as in this version.

_Hedoban! hedoban! hedoban! hedoban!_ _Ban ban ban ban_ Thanks for reading our comments and suggestions. I don't know how old are you but the amount of comments from girls about to celebrate their 15 years asking for this song for their party is insane, imagine the impact of such an special song. When this song was released SuMetal didn't understand too much about some meaning, she had 14 yo. It was until later years when some listener told her about the meaning of the japanese ticket discount mentioned in the lyrics which is used to travel for free and is very handy for long distance when you wanna go to your favorite live concert, which is what the girl in this song is doing to celebrate her 15 birthday while having a melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. The composition of this song was quite unusual, instead of recording some parts, they asked SuMetal to sing in one take, this is meant to give a narrative type, which later on our queen did stupendously, if you watch and hear newer version like the last one live at Budokan 2021 you will hear even more lower notes, this of course is because she mature but also she learn new vocal techniques. This songs ranks up in all BM favorite pools and it got several versions including an official MV when they were even more younger, and just like you said their energy is indescribable, so don't be afraid to watch another different live version, there's something always good to see. The live performance at Legend 1997 in 2013 celebrating her 16th yo is another significant event, the whole concert is a must watch to witness her transition from Jpop idol to metal goddess. If you want to keep listening more of beautiful SuMetal voice might be good idea to hear their solos like _Rondo Of Nightmare_ with Mischief Of God Intro live at Budokan 2014, a really different usual happy vibes, or _Akatsuki_ live at Budokan 2014. But if anyone is recommending _Megitsune_ then I'm totally with it too, another quintessential BM song with all the girls. Waiting for more of your reactions. Until next time. Kitsune up! 🦊🤘

Great reaction! Every song/performance by these young ladies and their Kami Band are different. They will surprise you by exploring (and nailing) different music genres. Suzuka was spotted at a young age by their producer who was impressed by her unique vocal abilities and stage presence and wanted to inject life into his passion heavy metal which he felt was becoming stagnant. He decided Suzuka’s voice could rise above and be distinct even with a heavy metal band behind her. Moa and Yui provide the all important role of charging up the crowd and providing back up vocals. A perfect storm of talent, inspiration, hard work, and discipline. It just works.

Truly one of their great concerts ifrom 2013. This is before their International breakout at the 2014 at Sonisphere in the UK. As to their audience control, it's not just with a Babymetal audience. They do this at music festivals, and excellent example is "Karate" at the Download Festival in the UK. All 3 have been performing on stage since they were about 6 yo. There are some excellent videos of Suzuka singing solo in YT, just put in Suzuka Nakamoto in search. There is also a video of Yui and Moa's audition for Sakura Gakuin when they were 10 yo, again in YT. They did not audition for Babymetal they were assigned. From the same concert, you should react to Babymetal "Death" Legend of 1997 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIPGapeYnM51hqs

So fun tidbit there is a version where Moa sings the second part of the song and one where Yui does although that one is a fan video. Both have very good voices in there own right. Now as for Su’s vocals the two songs I think showcase her power best are Rondo of Nightmare and No Rain No Rainbow from Hiroshima her home town. Also Rondo has a very good opening from the band.

Great reaction again, I didn't see anyone post the lyrics so I will at the bottom of this post. The translation from Japanese to English loses a lot of the direct meaning as its difficult to translate, but you get the idea behind the meaning of the song. It's about a young girls first heavy metal concert. There is also a Dubstep remix of this song headbanger that they did at the very start of this Legend of 1997 concert, which 1997 refer's to Su-Metal's Birthdate. This whole concert was her birthday concert and the theme was two-fold. (1) It Represented Su-Metal's life from birth to present and then ascending, throwing away the old idol self and becoming a metal Goddess. (2) it represented the progression of Babymetal from very young idol girls ages 11-12 years old to a more mature group of songs and growing as a group to a live band. Here are some of the translated Prologues to some of the songs explaining what is going on as the concert progresses. This concert wasn't just a bunch of songs thrown together. Prologue Legend of 1997 concert Birthday of Su-metal "Second Impact" It was the winter just 15 years ago when, in the idol scene, the teen group known as "the SPEED king of Okinawa" had a dominant influence. On December 20th of that year, SU-METAL was born to this world. Concurrently, on December 31st 15 years ago, the legendary band called "invincible" ended its history at the Tokyo Dome. The Fox God said, "It is the birth of the new life that transcends the law of nature, and as its cost an old life shall pass away." Preparing for the upcoming "Metal Resistance", SU-METAL has made many efforts in the "idol" scene. She went to a local dance school since her childhood. She sang "Daring!" while she was absolute cute. She went to the growth-stage-limited school. SU-METAL's undercover propagation in the "idol" scene was executed steadily. Now "the special night of fifteen" starts to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of SU-METAL's birth. Prologue to Babymetal Death Legend of 1997 concert. Legend One-Nine-Nine-Seven. It is the story that, receiving the legendary corset(neck brace) from the god of the Metal, she abandons being human and shall be reborn as a goddess. The gene which has been determined from ancient time is destined to be guided, boarding on the ark of time. The apocalypse prophesied the DOOMSDAY. Towards it, there remains... little time... (5) Are You (4) Ready to (3) (2) Mosh'sh (1) Mosh'sh (0) Mosh'sh This whole concert was a HUGE musical Theater production and just plucking out songs here and there you don't get to see or hear all the video cut-scenes and what not. This was one of the best concerts for production, crowd participation, professionalism and just plain non-stop enjoyment that I've had the pleasure to watch. There is no way this old body would be able to live though a Babymetal concert, I would not survive. My virtual legs are tired just watching one song on KZbin lol. For the Babymetal group, the progression of the concert started with Ava Maria and Night of 15 Remix of Headbanger, then songs which incorporated the Babybones fake musicians as early on in Babymetal's career they didn't have the money to pay for a backing band. The concert progresses into more mature songs and the Kami Band like Headbanger which was the 3rd to the last song followed by Akatsuki (unfinished version) Ending with a very magical song called Babymetal Death. I'm sure you will get to these songs soon enough so I won't spoil anything. #notacult With the legendary black long hair disordered around and gorgeously, blooming crazy, this flower will soon disappear fruitlessly. [Headbang, headbang, headbang, headbang, headbang, headbang! Bang, bang, ba, bang!] Now the time has come. I no longer hesitate. I hold tightly the discount railway tickets. To the east, to the west, to the south, to the north, today too I rush to the very front of the stage center. On the left side, [Come on!] on the right side, [Come on!] standing up still, leaning back, jumping toward the stage, [And then!] leaning over the fence, [And then!] rolling over the mob, [And then!] and then all deeply headbanging. This special night of my fifteen, I'll never forget. All the crybabies, get out of here! With the legendary black long hair disordered around and gorgeously, blooming crazy, this flower will soon disappear fruitlessly. It'll never come back again and it's so short period. I etch in my heart this special night of my fifteen. I jump lightly and dance in the air. Headbanger! Good reaction. When you approach Babymetal it is difficult to understand this group without having a series of keys: 1.- They are not a Heavy Metal group, they are a Heavy Metal Idol group (Idol groups sing and dance). 2.- Most of the songs that are reacted to belong to a 2013 album called Babymetal and it is the album of a heavy metal children's group. It is important to understand this, it is a children's group aimed at a child audience between 10 and 15 years old, and mainly girls. But his music and his show is so good that it has captivated the Japanese metal universe and much of the rest of the world. 3.- It is currently the most influential metal group in Japan. 4.- And they are only 24 and 22 years old...

Another great reaction, thanks! "Headbanger" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" is a classic and that was an early performance from late 2013... but it already shows their stage presence and, most important, their ability to work the crowd. That's mainly Yui and Moa's job and they master on what they do. Here you got some more of Su's amazing vocals. And she only got better and better through the years. Kudos to that crowd as well. Night of 15 Mix a EDM Dubstab version, Yui-banger and Moa-banger their birthday versions where they sing the second part of the song. After Su turned 20 they changed the lyrics from 15 to 20 and Moa also performed this version on her 20th birthday (my absolut favorite). Sadly we will never get one from Yui.

Yay! I'm super excited for another Babymetal reaction. 🤘🦊🤘 Edit: I love that you mentioned how good their stage presence is, because trust me, you've seen nothing yet. They have performances that blow almost all other bands out of the water. The production team behind Babymetal is the best I've seen, although Rammstein certainly offers some competition.

Some people pick up on "it" as soon as they hear it. Other's do not. Just don't ask me what that "it" actually is. You managed, like many of us, to pick up on "it" rather quickly. Su's vocals, while not technically on par with the vocal gymnastics of someone like Christine Aguilera are delivered with such conviction you understand the emotion without understanding a word she is saying. I think her singing in Japanese to a largely English speaking audience has organically influenced her performance in that, by necessity, she's learned she needed to evoke emotion without depending upon people understanding the words. I've often said, it's not the quality of Su's vocals that makes her special, it's the qualities. There is no other vocalist in the world with those qualities.... and add onto that, there was no one singing heavy music in this manner before her. She had no examples to learn from. I hope you will continue on your Babymetal journal as they have so much to offer. Perhaps after hearing the early years, you may want to look at a current (2019-2021) "mature" and serious side of them with a song called "Shine".... or the current (and continued) fun side of them with a song called "PaPaya!". Another would be the 2016 live performance of Karate at the Download festival. And, of course, one of their all time great songs, Road Of Resistance (Live in Japan), which was recorded in 2015.

trying to leave a comment but YT filter delete it for strange reason :) Probably a filter bug or something :) its one of the concert dedicated girls birthday. Suzuka 16yo and Moa/Yui 14yo here. another ones is Legend 1999 (2013)(Yui and Moa 14th birhdays) , Legend D (2012)(Suzuka 15th birthday) Legend - M (2019)(Moa 20th birthday) Legend - S (2017)(Suzuka 20th birthday) At Legend D and 1997 dubstep version of Headbanger has performed. (Headbanger night of 15 mix) At Legend 1999 Moa perform (Love Machine) solo and Yui solo (Chokotto Love) At Legend-M Moa perform Headbanger as lead vocal (half of song). (Also, on start of this show, Moa flew over the hall, suspended from cables, in the form of an angel, on whose wings videos of old concerts were displayed. In an interview, she said that she was very proud of this because no one had done this before. She said it was an unforgettable experience.) Legend-S was first performance without Yui. So sad. .

If you put some links like I saw you a couple of times doing it then that might be the problem, YT don't like it, and think that you're an spammer or a bot, that's why I don't put anymore links among others things, otherwise YT will shadow ghost you. 🦊🤘
