Yeah. Martino is phenomenal, but our man here is no less a virtuoso, and shaped so much of the band's hard elegant sound. Plus, NOW THE BALANCE OF LEFTIES IN THE BAND IS OFF! BOOH! Best of luck, man. Someone of your talent will have your pick of great groups.

Marvelous. One of the biggest reasons I like NeO is the progressives without being selfindulgent, and the virtuosity without loss of soul. For the most part, I, as a hobbyist, could play this bass part - and I love that. There are enough Dream Theaters and Archspires and Dying Fetuses in the metal world already - so for something to be so good while being technically restrained is awesome. This is the kind of bass part people study to learn the intricacies of it all.
@icipher67307 жыл бұрын
Please, don't group Archspire with something like Dying Fetus. They may sound like a boring shredfest akin to Brain Drill on the surface level, but they actually use ridiculous overt technicality and extreme speed to create a very eerie, erratic atmosphere (I call it "The Faceless on crack", lol) and some of the most fun and memorable melodies of all progressive death metal releases of the last decade.

I love this. I love the bass tone being more funky and jazzy in sound, similar to Martin Mendez' tones from Opeth tracks. I also love how a lot of it is very simple - but yet sounds absolutely kickass. One of the things that makes me consider a bassist to be fantastic.

Before, when I used to watch your playthroughs, it brought me a lot of joy. Watching this now, I am in tears. My vision is not clear as I write this. The realisation that I will not be able to watch NeO live with you on stage ever in my life crushes me. You know, my feelings go in sync with this track, begins with numbness that kept the sadness in somnolence. As the track goes on, the feelings come out one after the other and at a certain point, I can't take it anymore. Brother, I may never have met you but you are one of the best people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. If it weren't for you, I may not have even been alive right now. Thank you for everything. May nature bless you.

i liked more the bass on Portal Of I, because in this disc i feel like the bass was kinda wipped out in favor of everything else to be honest, the drum is louder so you had to pay attention to tell apart the bass from the snare, and the guitars owershadowed the bass, people said that the drum in this disc is "heavier", but in Portal Of I it was heavy too (Im not saying its not heavier because it is), only that the bass drum was sorta drawn back from the snare and you could tell the patterns perfectly, and the bass guitar was more natural or organic i guess, it was always there not on top of everything but in its place... this is the kind of band where there should be a really great master so we can hear that sweet bass on all it`s gloriousness... So guys please for your next masterpiece take advise from Horrendous and Opeth which lasts discs sounded amazing (master wise or wherever its called) and dont make it louder...i would give my ass away for a remaster of those two discs (mostly citadel).. rant aside, i still listen to this album more than anything else. sorry for the grammar
