NE show chartered MRT picking up students at Raffles Place station (6 July 2024)

Context/background :
Weeks before the actual (Singapore) National Day parade on 9 August every year, it will host several rehearsals shows that allow audiences to join and watch the show, typically on multiple Saturdays before 9 Aug. The performance shows are introduced to all of the Primary 5 school students as the Govt believes the show is a great way to get them to learn about Singapore’s identity and heritage/giving them a sense of belonging. Hence, the name ‘NE show’ (National Education show) cough not a propa- The schools are allowed to specially use the MRT privately to get to/from the parade and school venue as most students have to be gathered/dismissed from their respective school venues and not at the parade site. (Most likely for crowd control/safer way to return home for children)
MRT is a more efficient/safer way to transport a large crowd of people to their respective venues compared to buses anyway.
The Parade site this year is at Padang so they will board at Raffles Place station after their NE show ended.

Well as long as the trains are still running at normal efficiency then it not really a problem since they paid for it. If not happy then simply find another route or kindly wait for the next train.

If your school is located in the north-east side or your NE show is during 2016-2019, then you won't get chartered MRT back/from parade site as there isn't one for NEL and SMRT/NDP committee decided not to use MRT on those years for some reason. If MRT is not available for your school, they will use buses instead.

Schools who went to the second show, or the fourth show (fourth show not here yet) they have to take train from each North south and East west lines, cause the other schools select buses for The first show and third show. So SMRT has 4 whole trains for schools, ( each train car from 1-6 are different schools) the other 2 trains are not used YET as the fourth show is not here yet. If you still don’t understand, ask LTA or SMRT.
