Legend!! He is so humble. I am speaking from experience. I was so grateful to meet him

I'm adding this, after discovering yet another obscure for no good reason- Lee Morgan album, "Taru" from 1968- released in 1980. Mr. Workman, is simply at the top of his game on that recording. His sound is just about as perfect a double bass sound as has ever been captured on record, and his playing is so spiritual and creative- it's amazing to listen to. His work on "Haeshem" an incredibly beautiful Morgan ballad.. is beautiful, no other way to put it. Thank God for musicians like him.

Thanks, Reggie.....only saw you play once, at the old Tin Palace in Manhattan... but, like seeing Sam Jones only play one time- I'll never forget it. I am a lifelong bassist, and at 69, I still have a lot to learn. There's nothing more beautiful, than a genius sharing their gift with others.

Even after listening to the music for fifty years I am still hearing things in Mr. Workman's work with Coltrane & Blakely That blow me away. His recordings from the 90's with Andrew Hill, Sam Rivers & Julian Priester are also great additions to this master musiciansdiscography.
