As a former D3 player I think Kat early lanning phase is similar to Fizz get level 3 start trading and helping your jungler for scuttle fight perhaps you get a kill and get some lead.

I don't know how to play Kat, but my WILD GUESS on how to play early game is, from highest to lowest priority: 1. Keep our health up 2. if we can, last hit ONLY, we want 2 first but the wave moving as slow as humanly possible 3. if we can't control the wave without losing health let them slow push into us while using Q to secure farm then aggressively farm/fight when the wave bounces out 4. if we ever get a big slow push going, look to kill them or unlock roams when it hits tower whichever costs fewer gold/cooldowns.

Neace's videos have skyrocketed me from being hardstuck Gold to Platinum in just a few weeks of watching. I knew I had the Vayne mechanics, but like 0 Macro. Since I've started applying his macro concepts I found I'm less focused on my admittedly great mechanics and more on Vision, Wave Management (which is hard as Vayne), Rotating, Pressure, etc. Ever since I made kills secondary, I find myself getting more of them each game

Katas gameplan changes depending on jg matchup and how the game is going. If enemy top or bot overexnends a lot her priorit should be to get shoved in then slowpush and look to roam with or without jg. Since her botlane is a very agressiv lane she could also look to dive with slowpushes aswell. Earlygame vs zed id say try and burn his potions pre lvl3 and take a trade at lvl2 due to kata being stronger at that point. But once lvl3 is around zed should have the better trade. if zed ever uses W you are going to look to trade with E W Q then E back.

Lets say botlane is 0/4 both then you should never roam there unless its 100% succesrate. in that case you try and roam top.

Kat early plan against zed should be: Lvl1: use ur q on zed as much as possible while u try to dodge his q Lvl2 play safe, dont let him chunk u Lvl3 wait till he use his w and when he press q, E behind him, and that’s gonna be a free kill or a very good trade here since his q is so easy to dodge like that After that, if he stays, we try to kill him like when he use q anytime just E behind him If he recalls, push in the wave and recall. As an also hard-stuck gold Katarina OTP, I've learned the game starts when I click accept and am put into lobby with 4 strangers. Inspire confidence, attempt to get everyone on the victory screen with a "lets get this dub" and don't cry out loud when they ban your OTP. My clearly professional opinion is that when playing Katarina mid early you /mute all, 1-3 your only focus is on wave manipulation and begging your bot/top lane to deep ward, post 3 you're capitalizing on skill difference in your lane opponent and looking/praying for early skirmishes to break out. If ally jungler's capable of going for scuttle, prep to have level 4 first or at least ward scuttle/ally jungler side. Spam ping ally jungler after scuttle to help you shove your lane so you can roam and then look to make a pick on enemy jungler and/or laners while your mid is stuck with wave management. Post 6 you look for fights where you can press R and win and take your lead to objectives that your team can fight over to end game. I could go on, but it should be GG EZ by 10 minutes unless you're in high elo(diamond+).

TLDR: Keep map pressure applied to Lane while roaming and denying enemy XP/gold. Because if you can crash the wave faster, you can chip off more tower health sooner as well as deny the enemy team gold and XP. If he didn't crash that wave, that wave and the one not too far off behind it would build up in top lane in a safe and convenient spot for the enemy team to farm up.

zed has good kill potential, so I would play the game a little safe early but if he misses skillshots, punish him. Then when you get shunpo use that to zone a little, zed is a lane bully and has the potential to snowball off one kill, so ward a little close to his tower if he backs up because you don't want him roaming after 6. Other than that, play safe, counter gank, and look for plays that won't feed the enemy a free kill. She's an assassin, she needs to try to pick off weaker carries, and stay out of the middle of team fights until she can see an unhealthy carry at the back to jump on.

Kats early gameplan is similar to Twisted Fate IMO. Control the wave, nail your back timing, and then look for a roam (preferably botside) to crack the game open and gain tempo.

I mained kata to plat 2 (not bragging just saying I have some experience climbing with katarina) and the main problem I saw was a serious lack of initiative to MAKE plays and using the wrong combo’s vs zed. When he all in’s zed and zed all in’s him he needs to start the fight with e w q r then when zed goes to q him he can just E to the q dagger to dodge all the shuriken damage and remain very healthy while zed just got chunked. He can also e behind zed when he throws the q’s if kata is a ahead which i know doesn’t apply to this game. The goal for all in’s vs zed is to just dodge the q’s and you win

If I'm not mistaken i believe early game kata is looking to secure as much cs as possible and look to roam for scuttle fights or skirmishes to try to snowball early. But what do i know im silver. Cheers to another good vid Neace

Katarina pre-6 strat. Shove wave into zed early and get lane priority. Trade with zed whenever (at least try to Q poke him at level 1 and take W at level 2 and shove him in for lane priority. Once you get 3...if you have nothing else to do, go for a cheater recall. Otherwise roam and find something to do with your jungler. Katarina is INSANE in 2 V 2 skirmishes because of the reset nature of her kit. Once you are level 6, try dodging zed WEQ combo and respond with your own combo and back off. Shove him and create a kill pressure scenario for yourself. If he's under tower then roam and find kills elsewhere.

Imo, Kata's early game plan should be, respect your opponent (cuz most of her matchups are s**t for her), farm safely then look to roam or TP (if your teammates are smart enough to put cheeky wards for you to TP to), that's my humble way of viewing her

@@citizencj3389 if you mean Kata, Imma have to disagree. Pros and high elo in general don't really play her, she's mostly an "idiot test" champ, meaning that most people don't really know how to deal with her, therefore she seems "broken" but really, she ain't, at least in my humble opinion

@@walkelftexasranger there's a big difference between "don't play her" period, and "don't REALLY play her" like I said. OTPs don't count cuz they only play that one champ, any OTP would be able to reach high elo with any champ. Reality is, pros barely play her, and in high elo sure there's some Kata players but she's not as played as other champs better fitted for high elo. I mean KatEvolved once said that Kata is really not as strong as she's perceived to be, and that's coming from a challenger Kata so...

Making sure the katarina isn't pushing the wave early is the biggest one for sure imo. If he pushes, lane is over if zed knows what he's doing! Haven't seen the result of him playing yet though :). This is literally what I see low elo do - pushing for no reason, or actually freezing when they aren't supposed to.

Kata's early game is chill, try to get farm without losing too much and look for that juicy tp bot around lvl 2-3( for the botlane)

It always surprises me, that people who get coached actualy never even have down the basics Neace talks about in every other video. Auto cam, hotkeys, pinging. not leaving wave in a slowpush unless it's a setup for later etc.

Well in this guys case and in alot of cases of people who have b een playing forever, they literally started when the game was brand new, no guides or info on what to do correctly, they go in the game aganist everyone else who is also a complete noob and they build these bad habits and eventually they literally never change, play for 6 years straight and this gu;y still dosent know how to cs properly, he dosent know the proper pinging becuz he was used to the basic ping and when they changed this he didnt think much of it since when he first started playing there was only 1 ping.

Kat early plan vs zed: try to get as many minions as she can while staying healthy. She could trade pre6 if she manages to dodge his combo else she should hold the wave infront of the turret (while thinning it so she won't get dove ofc) to either tp if a lane gets ganked or overextends, setup a gank if zed would waste W ( its gold so he will ) or looking to help her jg at scuttle. If nothing happens recall at around 1.1k so she can get sorcs to dodge zeds Q's on 6 more easily and beeing able to move faster around the map. BUT most important thing is to not die. Ty

i had a few Tryndamere games(im Trynda main, almost OTP), where i won while doing 0 damage to champs. just on split pushing. at high gold or plat and above i can't really do that but in iron-silver it works because every1 so bad, and what do you know- the objective of the game is destroying a tower, not killing as many champs as possible.

Great advice when giving tips, which is obviously why he's challenger. However, I feel like the coaching is a little condescending and harsh. For younger people that aren't used to a competitive environment it could be really hard to actually 'learn' from the advice given. If these students were good at learning from losing, they wouldn't be "stuck." That alone tells me they aren't used to being competitive, because in a competitive world, there is a LOT of losing, and that's how you learn. I'm not really great at LoL (like Gold 4 thru 2 is where I was this season), but have been learning a lot from watching these lessons! My advice to you, coach, is to remain patient with these folks and put yourself in their mindset. That can be tough because what you know as common sense, is not even something us lesser folk have thought about. But i AM baffled at how many people don't close shop with esc., I'm wondering if they open the shop with their mouse too? I never ever thought about trying to close with my mouse lol. Seems like a waste of energy.

Id go TOP lane, if you play a good support, I think you seen the ADC last hit enough times to know how to do wave management and bully at the same time. If you do that by yourself in top lane, you're good. You already know how to ward. :D

@@adrianp2579 I'd rock Quin top lane 100% followed with other options like Garen, renekton. Quinn can be such a bully if you play her range at max, so positioning is important. Garen you can just mow people down.
