The Neajlov Delta or Balta Comana, as it is also called, with an area of about 1100 ha of marshy area, fed by the Neajlov river, is part of the Comana Natural Park and is considered the largest wetland in southern Romania, which ranks second in the country as biodiversity after the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve.
In the Neajlovu Delta, located within the radius of Comana commune in Giurgiu county, 141 species of birds were reviewed, half of which are internationally protected, 19 species of fish (two of which - the gypsy and the Comana clean are found only in this natural area ) and 31 mammal species.
