I will take your recommendation to heart Neal, I do not have much expertise or formal training in science, I cannot say I agree or disagree with you Neal, but I did have a slight epiphany over your theory, here is my conundrum, If the plate tectonics drift split the pangea land masses apart, why such almost evenly spaced bodies of water between the present continents? SO MANY THINGS ARE WRONG WITH THE CONCEPTS HIDDEN BEHIND EACH WORD. 1. PLATES DON'T DRIFT. CRACKS APPEAR/SPREAD IN THE OCEANIC PLATE, AND MAGMA RISE TO FILL THE SPREAD FROM THE INSIDE. THESE CRACKS WIDEN AND WIDEN. (THE CONTINENTAL PLATES SIT WITHIN THESE OCEANIC PLATES. LIKE TREE STUMPS IN THE LAND! 2. PANGEA! PANGEA, PRE-SUPPOSES THAT SOMEHOW THE EARTH DIFFERENTIATED )LIGHTER MATERIAL, GRANITIC ROCK, TO RISE TO ABOVE THE DENSER MOLTEN BASALT ROCK TO FORM THE CONTINENTAL PLATE.. ONE WOULD SUPPOSE THIS LIGHTER MOLTEN ROCK SLOWLY SMOOTHLY COATED THE WHOLE OF THE SPINNING EARTH LIKE SOFT PAINT/PLASTER, BUT ACCORDING TO GEOLOGY MILES THICK OF GRANITIC CONTINENTAL PLATE COVERED MERELY ONE THIRD OF THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH. THE REST OF THE LOWER, SURFACE OF THE EARTH,.. IS DENSER BASALTIC DEEP OCEANIC CRUST. NO LIGHTER GRANITIC ROCK AT ALL!!!! TWO THIRDS OF THE EARTH -OCEAN AND NO CONTINENTAL PLATE AT ALL! WE CAN STOP HERE AND FORGET ALL THE REST OF THIS INSANE THEORY OF GEOLOGY! STAY WITH THIS. FOR BILLIONS OF YEARS MOLTEN ROCK SITS JUST UNDER THE CRUST COOKING. NATURALLY THE LIGHTER STUFF RISES TO THE TOP.. IT RISES TO THE SURFACE THROUGH VOLCANOES AND RIFTS. TO COAT THE SURFACE FOR MILES THICK! NOW,....HOW DOES IT JUST MAKE PANGEA AND NOT COAT THE OTHER TWO-THIRDS OF THE EARTH???? IM-POSSIBLE! TRY THIS THEN. OVER BILLIONS OF YEARS A GROWING EARTH DIFFERENTIATES GRANITIC MOLTEN ROCK UP TO COAT THE EARTH COMPLETELY IN LAYER AFTER LAYER FOR MILES THICK. THE ACCELERATING GROWTH INCREASES AND THE, NOW TOO THICK CRUST CAN'T KEEP UP WITH IT.. SO THE CRUST IS FORCED TO CRACK, DOWN TO THE BASALT, BEGINNING 180 MILLION YEARS AGO! TO SPREAD WIDER AND WIDER.,...AND WIDER. PROBLEM?????? THE "GROWING" PART??? THAT'S PHYSICS. THAT'S WHAT TOOK ME 30 YEARS! wouldn't just chaotic plate movements just maybe bunch it all together all again, there you have made me think about science, oh yeah thanks for resusciting the X-Men back in 69, with that we wouldn't be able to enjoy the billion dollar movie series we have now, I will let you know about the Odyssey progress

Tedius MY COMMENTS IN CAPS. I am a huge Neal Adams fan. I have all of his comics and books. I THINK THIS SAYS MORE ABOUT YOU THAN IT SAYS ABOUT BATMAN ODYSSEY. FANS GET OLD. YOU CAN'T HELP IT. I GET IT. YOUR MEMORIES COLOR YOUR FEELINGS AND RESPONSES. NOTHING WILL EVER BE BETTER THAN "THE OLD DAYS". But I have to say I did not like Batman: Odyssey. FACT IS THERE'S NEW YOUNG ARTISTS AND WRITERS AND COMICS ARE, IN GENERAL,..BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE I TOOK MY LONG ?BREAK?,....,.....(HEH ) MY LAST WORK WAS SUPERMAN VS MUHAMMUD ALI, ARGUABLY ONE OF THE BEST COMIC BOOKS EVER. WHILE DENNY BEGAN THE PROJECT, I, IN THE END WROTE AND DREW IT. RECENT REPRINTS, WITH NEW COLOR, BUT THE VERY SAME PALETTE, SELL WELL BUT, BETWEEN YOU , ME AND THE FENCE POST, I WAS PAID $55.oo PER PAGE FOR PENCILS IN ALI. I COULD HARDLY SUPPORT A FAMILY AT THAN RATE, SO I DROPPED OUT. NOW, BACK,... ALL THAT WORK AND BATTLE I DID TO IMPROVE CONDITIONS FOR CREATORS BACK THEN HAVE COME TO FRUITION! CONDITIONS HAVE TOTALLY CHANGED. INDEPENDENT PUBLISHERS ARE EVERYWHERE, RATES ARE UP AND COMPETITION IS FANTASTIC,....WORTHY OF MY BEST EFFORTS! BUT,.....THEN, THERE'S THE INTERNET. FIRST ISSUE CAME OUT,..SOME CRITICS READ THE FIRST BOOK AND REACTED JUST LIKE YOU. I CALLED D.C. I STUPIDLY ASKED "DO I RESPOND?" "NAAAAA, FERGET IT. IT'S "JUST" THE INTERNET" SO,...I DIDN'T RESPOND! DID I WRITE " HEY, WHEN YOU READ THE FIRST CHAPTER OF A STEPHEN KING NOVEL, DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE STORY? OBVIOUSLY NOT, SO HANG IN THERE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!" BUT I DIDN'T WRITE RESPONSES. BIG MISTAKE! MANY PEOPLE , BECAUSE OF THESE CRITICS, HAVEN'T YET FINISHED THE STORY. NOTHING COULD BE MORE SUBJECTIVE,....AND COLORED BY ONE'S OWN LIFE EXPERIENCES AND HISTORY. FOR EXAMPLE, OLD FANS DEFEND THE OLD COMIC BOOK COLORING PRINTED ON THE TOILET PAPER, (CALLED NEWSPRINT.) THAT COMICS USED TO BE PRINTED ON, BY THE SAME KIND OF PRINTING PRESSES THAT BEN FRANKLIN USED. SOME FIND IT CHARMING AND WAX NOSTALGIC ABOUT ALL THOSE OLD DUST MITE RIDDEN COMICS. THERE'S ABOUT TWO DOZEN OF YOU. THE REST OF FANS TODAY, ARE USED TO OFFSET PRINTING ON GOOD ACID FREE SLICK PAPER AND THOSE OLD PRESSES ARE IN MUSEUMS OR SCRAPPED. THE COLOR AT MARVEL WAS NO MORE THAN 60 FLAT COLORS AND AT D.C. COMICS IT WAS 32 COLORS.(UNTIL I TRICKED THE PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT INTO GAINING 32 MORE COLORS. NOW WE HAVE COMPUTERS AND LITERALLY MILLIONS OF COLORS. BACK IN THE DAY, INCIDENTALLY, COLOR WAS DONE BY HOUSEWIVES IN CONNECTICUT WHO DID "PIECE-WORK COATING LARGE ACETATE PRINTS WITH A THICK PAINT , CALLED DRAGONS BLOOD, WITH BRUSHES THAT LOOKED LIKE THE BACK END OF A SMALL BROOM,..FOLLOWING A NUMBERS SYSTEM. YET,.....YOU LOVED IT,...BUT TIMES HAVE CHANGED,. AS HAS ART. AT MY TABLE I HAVE VARIANT COVERS AS WELL AS VINTAGE COVERS FROM, YES, THE 70'S. THE OLD ONES ARE GOOD, AND SOME CHARMING, BUT COMPARED TO COVERS I DO TODAY??? WELL, THERE'S NO COMPARISON. OF COURSE I'M PAID 10 TIMES WHAT I WAS PAID IN THE 70'S AND I PUT MORE WORK INTO A PAGE,...BUT SO DOES EVERY ONE ELSE. FOR ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE. READ BATMAN ODYSSEY . I'T SOLD OUT,..EVERYWHERE. SPOILER I like Batman Odyssey now, however, I dislike the moment where Batman avoids killing Reuben Irons simply simply because the girl he shot wasn't actually dead. It feels really cockblocky, even worse than the moment in Batman v Superman where Batman doesn't kill Superman just because of the "save Martha" thing. I think having characters not backing down in their beatdowns is the way to go. But, yeah, I really like many other aspects of Batman Odyssey.

THAT was the MORAL DILEMMA! If the girl died, would Batman have killed Reuben??? THEN we find the girl survived, so Batman doesn't (have to ) kill Reuben! So, why does it matter if the girl lived or died? Doesn't Reuben DESERVE to die? And therein lies the question, the dilemma! Do you remember Batman walking away and asking the question? That wasn't a question, but the answer! Batman NEVER KILLS,...(Except to save lives or if he has no choice!) This is the nature of justice,...punishment for crime,.....NOT REVENGE! NEVER REVENGE! The important thing is that Batman, tho he doesn't kill,....MUST leave the thought in mind that he WILL KILL! This same theme comes home to the reader at the end and climax of the story! Remember? I really like this book, I just wish Batman would have actually killed him. Him not killing kind of ruined it for me. I'm a big fan of the times he kills. Also, I believe he does kill one guy, as he shoots him in the heart with a batarang, then in the arm, and then knocks him unconscious leaving him to die. Robin also punches a trolls head, making it turn a complete 180. In pretty sure that's dead. I do think it's a great story with amazing artwork. Good work, Sir.

Took a comment down, for the sake of form. Sorry! Why? 1. Highly complementary of two chapters but not the others. That's like saying two of Steven king's chapters were great, and the rest was so-so! It's a Novel. It doesn't exist as CHAPTERS,.. How was the Novel??? The chapter were connected in a story. how was the story. If the last chapter was killer and chapter two was great, hell, that sounds like a good damned story. Was it all read as one book, AT ALL? I doubt it! The multiple Joker segment? The battle in the warehouse? The cross theatricality of the Riddler, Aquaman and Talia? The demigods? The deep Earth story? The Neanderthals, the dinosaur,s, the Gnomes and the underground war. Giant Bats, Trolls, ageless engineers, the demi-gods? Future Fuel sources the bloody TRAIN SEQUENCE, ????? to name a few! Just two chapters???? 2.Didn't understand some of the story???? WHAT? hell, I get that some stories these days are intentionally obtuse and unclear and presume too MUCH study by even the geek reader..THIS was not one of those in any way. Every event was crystal clear. Did the critic not know the ending of the story by chapter two? Was that it? That's called literature,... and story-telling! You don't get to know the end,..until the END, if the writer is doing his job! Didn't like the GUEST INKERS???? I'm bloody sorry,...some of the very best inkers in the comics industry??? By what standard are we going???? PURITY?? Elitist? Kevin Nowlan, Scott Williams, Paul Neary, Bill Sienkiewicz for Christ's sake. Muddy up the story???? These are some of the clearest best inkers in the history of comics! Then,...the capper,...I drew the "wrong" bat-costume??????? what the hell??? BULL-S**T! I'm again sorry. just what costume is that??? Some "personal preference'??????? Ruined the story?????' The cowl? The cape? Hell, I practically INVENTED the billowing cape in all it's manifold forms, copied by all artist's since then. The gloves, boots? The emblem on his chest? The costume for Batman in this graphic Novel was perhaps the best costume ever. A utility belt that WORKED! Not the time regressed, world war II Garrison belt that holds nearly nothing practical for a modern day crime fighter, and as to design,..is nonsensical! I even created an under cowl face mask that gives the front of Batman's face protection and justification for the forms beneath.! Personal preference? .......OH, and when does such a thing belong in a review, except as an aside. This was not a review! This was an irresponsible rambling of personal fan driven and unprofessional opinionated prejudices. There is, I suppose, a place for this kind of stuff, but it's not here. The internet , should be professional, carefully thought out, and adhering to rational guidelines, and not a fan-boy exercise in elitist, and personal prejudices! Neal Adams

Well issue #3 and the last final issue was INCREDIBLE. Pure genius in all of comic books. The rest of it, yeah I mostly agree w/you overall. But the last issue + iss#3 was mindblowing Batman
