A Mercifully Short Train Video by Neal J. Conway. A rare glimpse of old one gauge (1+3/4" / 48mm) trains in operation. Few collectors in the U.S. have the track and know about the Variac as a power source. This features mostly Marklin 1 gauge, along with a Bing cast-iron "3238," an Elektoy Pennsylvania set with brass engine and a couple of Carette rapid transit outfits. The rarest thing, by far, is the Carette Paris Metro (With headlights!) from 1908. Most of the stations are Marklin. The lithographed depots are Bing and Ives. The Bing Telefon/Telegraf station was acquired at the April 1972 York Meet, so it has taken almost 50 years to assemble the stuff for this video.
