Fantastic review, I listened to these the other day with and exposure 3510 amp and was blown away by the bass for the size of the speaker. I also listened to the epos es14 loudspeakers which were fantastic too, decisions decisions

I'm intrigued by their Motive series, which appears to be the only other speakers besides Focal's own lines that are still using Focal's inverted dome tweeters. I thought that when they started making their own speakers Focal quit being an OEM selling drivers to other makers. Those inverted dome tweeters are truly magic
@mykabayiri2 жыл бұрын
I have the Neat Motive SX2 speakers, and I also have some focal speakers stored away (when they used the brand JmLab). There's definitely a familiarity, not so much on level, but how the tweeter provides a lot of the character. Lively and fun keep coming to mind. I should dig them out and do a comparison sometime.
@DougMen12 жыл бұрын
@@mykabayiri That would be cool. I love the lively sound of those inverted domes tweeters, somehow managing to be very lively and detailed without ever sounding too bright, like some other speakers with lively highs sound

Very different sounding speakers. Detail, imaging and bass power go to the Neat. Warmth, musicality and listening over really lengthy periods of time goes to the Spendor’s

I have the ministra for a couple of years now and have them 33 inch into the room as its glass behind them , they sound really well enough bass for their size . But I am now wanting a bit bigger sound , I am thinking of these as my next speaker

Fantastic review on a brand I've somehow forgotten about in my search. And with a true (vs a quasi-) ribbon!! Years ago, I had noticed that I've always preferred listening to true ribbons over planar magnetic OR amt type drivers, and that still holds today. The treble, to me, is right up there with the very BEST of ESL treble and the long-forgotten Plasmatronics Hill Type 1, which used a fantastic helium-buffered ionic upper mid/treble spherical driver (utterly transparent, but sadly very high maintenance also). So yes, with the true ribbons, I'm most definitely interested. And with NEAT, yes! Thank you! 😊 🥃🍷🍺

Good review!! How do you compare the Neats with the Spendor 2/3? They seem to have a very different house sound. More PRAT maybe for the Neats and maybe more natural tone for the Spendors?

Nice review of these Neat’s Kevin . I always knew Neat had a reputation for producing a sound that is both exciting and hugely enjoyable. Judging by your reaction Neat has kept to their traditional recipe and added better bass and imaging into the mix. Will seek out this model in my next speaker upgrade. Thanks!

Just wanted to ask I don't know if it would be possible could you review some of the Unison research products, or Vincent audio products?I don't know if that would be possible, but I would appreciate it. Don't hardly ever see any reviews on those products over here in the US.

@@thexaaka4192 it would really depend on your system and musical preferences. Try and get a demo of either speaker. 😊

You can tell there's a musician involved in the design, I'd risk saying someone from a rhythm section (a drummer or a bass player) because they have what musicians call: a DRIVE better known to audiophiles as PRAT

It's great that you are reviewing a speaker brand that is rarely reviewed. In your sound demos, everything else sounded excellent, except the bass. I don't know if it's due to the recording, other equipment, the room or the speakers themselves. I find the bass to be slow and inaccurate. The lowest basses sound forced and distorted. The sound of real ribbon tweeters is great (I own large floorstand speakers with large ribbon tweeters and standmout speakers with smaller ribbon tweeters); it is refined and detailed. The only reason why they are rarely seen in two-way speakers is probably the difficult matching with the bass/midrange element.
@dittonworks2 жыл бұрын
To be honest I think the microphone became overloaded by the bass. In hindsight I probably played/recorded then too loud. Thanks for watching

I reguard all two way ported noise distortion port boomers as pure junk. Neat use to make sealed cabinets, today they are cheaply made junk following the rest of the herd of other junk manufacturers. They still cannot make their own drive units, using cheap off the shelf drivers, in a poor port noise chuffing ported box.

I believe you are mistaken. It is typical of a person who has no understanding of speakers to argue that. Perhaps you are new to this hobby?
