I’m so glad Nebraska lost! I needed their serve receive to break down at least once before tourney! That was the difference here! Nebraska still hit at a good hitting percentage! They need to cut Franklin cut shot off they need to realize she snaps her wrist extremely sharp, which is honestly beautiful to see‼️but I called Wisconsin winning the difference was serve receive and the middle blockers for Nebraska! Laney and Lexi struggled tonight! Offensively Batenhorst and Harper were still fighting! Also I think Nebraska setting was off a bit too! Overall Wisconsin had a chip on they shoulder and made sure people knew them 2 losses to Penn and Purdue were luck on their part! Also Nebraska needs to stop letting them catch up! They lead almost every set far into the set as well! They started laying off

Unpopular opinion: While Nebraska is not at all a bad team, come tournament time I see them losing to Wisconsin and Stanford and on extreme upset watch against Louisville and Purdue. Hear me out! For Wisconsin, they’re back. We saw glimpses of TTA back to swinging like she did at NW and the team is looking at each other and having fun again. For Stanford, they’re my personal pick to win it all… their play is SURGICAL. They have lots of service errors, but it’s by design. Hambly says there is no correlation between service errors and winning games and it’s really been panning out for them as they only look more fluid and impressive as the season goes on. Plus Every. Single. Serve. is a BULLET. As for Louisville, they haven’t seen each other this season and if they can make fewer errors, I can see them in the final four for sure. Also on paper, doesn’t look like a good matchup for Nebraska. Purdue is my last pick of teams that can beat Nebraska based purely on the MISS DECEMBER energy that I KNOW Eva and Chloe will bring. Plus the rest of their team can actually keep up with their offense with pretty good defense.

Nebraska really struggled on serve receive. Lainey Choboy was a weak link and Wisconsin was clearly targeting her. If they could ever get in system Batenhorst and Murray did great. Beason also really underperformed. Murray and Batenhorst did more than their part, can’t really blame them.

GG was put in as libero (she was their downfall last season), Julia Orzol was put as an outside hitter, someone else came in defensively and I forget who was put in the other hitting position. You know, as much hype as Bergen Reilly has gotten, she is actually NOT sharp and consistent in her set location (height and distance from the net). There are SOOOOO many plays where the Nebraska hitter ended up having to just tip or roll the ball over the net because the set was too low or too tight, or both. Another problem is that Bergen did NOT utilize the middles -- ESPECIALLY Jackson, either on quicks or slides... partly a passing problem, but even when she had good passes, she did not set Jackson, who is such a dominant player at the net when she's involved in the play. Beason had a horrible game, and I've felt all season long that, yes, she's a powerful player and presence, but she doesn't have that 'it' factor -- she's too stiff, both when she hits the ball and especially when she passes the ball. I used to coach v-ball, and she reminds me of those players who never seem to become 'natural passers'. They keep their arms too stiff and kind of raise their arms upward too exaggeratedly when they pass, no matter how many times you try to teach them or show them, they never change that passing style. She's also had long-time problems hitting STRAIGHT INTO THE BLOCK, although this game, she seems to have tried to 'fix' that problem, but ended up hitting the ball OUT most of the time (overcompensating, or fearing the block). Batenhorst outperformed, as usual, and Murray had a solid match. Franklin = potential MVP for the season and in the upcoming tournament. Best hitter on the court, just knows how to reach high and put the ball on the ground -- especially that wicked cross-court shot. I've been both a Nebraska and Wisconsin fan (mostly Nebraska), but I'm glad they lost today. Too many over-inflated ego's and heads (Murray/Reilly mostly), it's good for them to be humbled and realize they're NOT ALL THAT. They probably have had half the campus (all the cute Senior guys) wanting to get with them, treating them like princesses, feeling like they're on top of the world. Time to get serious about improving your skills, your vertical jump (Murray), really going above and beyond in the gym to take your game to the next level. I think they've become complacent and arrogant (both of them missing a crazy number of serves during the season). Great win for W, and a 'good' loss for N.

I agree, Bergen is all hype and really nothing to back it up. She definitely needed to use Jackson more, that girl is beast. I 1000% feel like the overall attention the team has received has fed a lot of the girl's egos to the point where they act/play like they don't have Improvements to make. They needed to be humbled. And Beason, I expected her (as the veteran) to lead in this match but she was muted. This match exposed a lot of these girls for what kind of players they really are. Props to Batenhorst and Murray, they really gave all they had. Nice job Wisconsin!

​@@jruok Yup. The entire culture, and especially that "Volleyball Day" event totally over-hyped them as some kind of super-stars, put them on a pedestal, treting them like goddesses. And Murray IS a huge part of the problem. She's so incredibly arrogant and high on herself -- when she was like 10 yrs old, she declared she wanted to play on the US National Team. And with that body-type, you can BET everywhere she goes, guys are slobbering over her and she knows it. Truth is, Murray will NEVER be on the National team unless she REALLY improves her vertical jump. She just doesn't get up high enough to be effective against an all-6'4"+ block. She doesn't have that dynamic jump and ability to turn in the air like Franti or Robinson-Cook. Hate to say it, but I hope they lose the final tournament. When I played the game, we had a culture of humility and modesty, and true dedication to bettering ourselvs and our game. These princesses who are so full of themselves need to learn their lessons -- it will be good for them in the long run.
