Coach Rhule is a great leader and is always confident in his response. He is the stability the program and players need. This game is about inches and comes down to a play or two a game. We are never as bad as people say and not as good as people say. I think we can play with 20 teams in the top 25, but we can also lose to anybody if we don't make the plays that are in front of them. I see very real progress, but I also see the frustrations from all involved and from fans.

We literally collapsed against the 23rd ranked team at home for the 400th sellout. You think we could be 20 other teams in the top 25? The D quit and the O self destructed. Same story over and over again against terrible teams and now against the first team with a heart beat that they played in 2024. Get ready for 6-6. Rhule needs a total roster change over to rid himself of the PTSD these guys have from 5-6 yrs of losing.

@@horsepuckeryIt’s one game. We are still in the process of rebuilding so this loss isn’t the end of the world. At the start of the season, most people predicted 7 or 8 wins at most, but now we act as if this loss in the end of the world. Yes, it sucks losing a one score game but at the end of the day only one team comes out on top. We knew we’d probably lose a few games this year, so I’d rather have them at least be close rather getting blown out. We are just a play away from winning this game, which is significantly better than what we’ve seen in many of our other one score games.

@@JKJK-lw8rmthat’s a really dumb argument. There are a lot of teams with worse talent that do better than Nebraska every year. Look at Iowa. Nebraska has a top 25 team as far as raw talent

Rhule needs to find a new Special Teams Coordinator...pronto!! Ed Foley is really bad! We have missed at least 2 FGs, we have had a blocked kick and a blocked punt. People talking about a missed field goal or a game of inches - Illinois dominated both sides of the line. Our "elite" Defense could not get off the field. Then we imploded. 400th sellout. Night game. Ranked. All the momentum. And we completely folded. This program has a looooong way to go.

The only difference is that Illinois had 7 explosive plays. We only had 2. If you take away illinois explosive plays there per play efficiently wasn’t good it was at UTEPs level. We just got to limit explosive plays and make more.

There are some large and deep psychological issues at play. Those deep "what did i tell you?" feelings lead to the sudden collapse during the overtime. Did you hear coach say "Illinois came to beat us"? Like we felt about Colorado. We didn't have that killer instinct. But we also heard him say that he will build them up during private conversations.

The absence of Emmett is a waist of talent and a weapon. Dante is a hammer but he gives us very litte chance of breaking one. Rhamir has better vision and did well when he could. We need to be more creative in the run game, too weak up front and too predictable. Things are better, there have been improvements but it is hard seeing the same issues in the end game with Nebraska and hearing similar coach speak.

Norther Iowa exposed Nebraska. Illinois executed the plan. Nebraska in trouble! Gonna struggle against the run and can't get off the filed on 3rd down. Nebs secondary leaves middle wide open on 3rd and long.
