Man, what a sloppy game. Not sure I have ever seen this many pass interference calls. We needed those last week as Illinois was holding the whole game and not one flag on the DB's thrown.I wish we hadn't given up the touchdown late. I think we have some really good Running Backs, but I don't think they are all that well coached. I'd like to see someone like Rex Burkhead hired to coach the Backs. Emmet Johnson is clearly the most explosive and most likely to go the distance. Why isn't he starting. Dowdell is a work in progress. He's tough runner, but sometimes makes poor decisions. I don't think he's gonna go 60- 70 yards. Why couldn't he have dove like that for the first down on 3rd and 3 when we needed to convert last week? That's what I called for. We gave the game away with dumb playing calling when we could have burned clock. Not exactly a Mike Rozier or Roger Craig caliber dive, but he got in the endzone and covered some distance. If your gonna run wide you need EJ in the game, because he gets to the edge allot quicker that Donta does. I expected Irvin to be our short yardage guy and he's just disappeared.

It hasn't been since Frank Solich was HC. The defense is rarely far from the ball. And most importantly. They wrap up and tackle, when they, get to the ball. Even in the Pelini years. Tackling was an issue

Because of injuries, they have to use a freshman who is really supposed to be a kickoff specialist and not a field goal kicker. But the problem wasn't only with the kicker. They had to switch to a new snapper as well, and that was the real issue. Bad snaps and late snaps screwed up the timing and led to the blocks. Unless Alvano suddenly ends up healthy and they figure out whatever the snapper issue is, they need to hit the portal asap.
