NEC Caravan Show Feb 23 Part 1

Hello & Welcome back to Caravan Escapades and welcome to this Vlog, which is part 1 of our visits to the Caravan Camping & Motorhome show at the NEC in Feb 2023. This is the second day of the show but our first day there. We spend most of the day getting the lay of the land of where everything is, We purchase the new Collapsible water barrel from Colapz, Take a look at a possible small porch awning for us, drop by and say hi to MG Caravans and win a free nights pitch fees ay Woodhall Country park.

That collapsible Aquaroll is a good idea, two issues though, the price and the amount of water it'll hold! The stalls at the side is where you get all the free stuff!!

Agree not cheep For us, it's about keeping the Caravan as a usable space when we travel down to the South of France. We like to take 4 or 5 days doing it and like to just stop and use the Caravan without emptying stuff. I do wonder how the Capacity will be.i will do a vlog when we finally get them. The colapz is a bucket not an aqua roll. Shame they don’t do a larger fresh mini kit.

Hi Keith, the new one Fresh Water one, is totally sealable and watertight, difference is that you do need the stand / trolley to move it and not just a handle like the Aqua roll. Having spoken to them and looked at old You Tube Video's of the development of the product, It actually started life out as 50l unit, However there were design issues that meant the capacity had to be reduced. They have also said there is a waste version coming out at some point, not sure how easily that will work, if its going to be bucket / barrel shaped and getting the waste pipe in.

The collapz staff should get a medal for making a product for which there was no market and selling it at a ridiculous price. Emperors new clothes jobbie if you ask me. £150 for what an Aquaroll already does. Madness that you don’t feel embarrassed buying it. I would.

Hi Huw, Thanks for watching and commenting. for us it's use will mainly come into its own when we travel to the South of France, we tend to take 4 to 5 days to get there enjoying the trip. To be able to stop for the night and have the Caravan as a usable space without having to empty the Caravan just works well for us. We just stop put our legs down and away we go. I travel all over Europe with my caravan and don’t carry any of the utilities in it. They all fit in the boot of my car (Aquaroll, waste master and steps) until I set up. The caravan itself is unhindered by anything being carried. Awning is in the bed box and outside table and chairs are under the fixed bed. I just feel two rubber buckets and a trolley for £150 is pulling your pants down a bit.

@Huw Williams Hi Hiw, thanks for commenting again. Unfortunately, we don't have a fixed-bed caravan so don't have that storage for large items. We also ha e to accommodate for the bits associated with our 6-year-old. Bike etc. I do get your point it's not for everyone and is expensive compared to the Aqua Roll. For us it's worth it. The Colapz product is also not only aimed at Caravaners. It's ideal for those camper ans and van conversions with limited space. Happy Camping James

Thanks, David. I have actually just managed to get a Leggera of FB marketplace only been used twice for a third of the price of a new one. Pick it up later, so I'm quite chuffed with that.

Really not sure the point of the Collapz stuff, you’re lugging around a massive empty box when you go away, so not short of room to put an Aquaroll?

colapz water barrel not going to take off for caravanners, maybe for campervans .2x20ltrs £120 plus £40 trolley =£150 for 40ltr Barrell. Only somebody who has more money than sense compared to an aqua roll would purchase, or a reviewer getting them for nothing .

Hi John.. I agree it's a case of if it works for you or not. We travel to the South of France every year and spend 4 to 5 days travelling down. With night stopovers and is about having the Caravan as a usable Space for when we stop during the journey and for the one-night stops. Not having to take equipment out of the Caravan every time we stopped. I considered having an onboard tank fitted. But the lost storage space and the weight made me go for these. I can honestly say that I have paid the show price for these, with no discounts or freebies. Colapz have brand ambassadors that are listed on their website and I am not one of them.
