I think they've gone on record In saying they're pretty much done with TOHO and Godzilla as a whole. The process towards the end of their run seemed to get a tad messy between the two parties.

Such a lovely chill time hearing your thoughts on these lists good sir. Oh and totally agree, I LOVED the look of that Shin prototype. The head and jaws were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I feel like when they made the head smaller the superb detail suffered. But, still very grateful for what NECA did for us Godzilla fans. Some very special figures here.

Glad you enjoyed the 20 minutes of smooth, rambunctious jazz, my guy! lol Yeah dude, OG Neca Shin had the fucking STRATS! HE looked so so so much better and everything felt so much more on the right side of things, wish they had just let him be! But.. at the same time I understand why they took fan pointers, people wanted Shin Godzilla merch and didn't want to break their bank accounts. STILL STILL THOUGH...I do wish the OG mold found it's way out!

I love my NECA Shin Godzilla (awesome box version). I had so much trouble getting the tail on him (hot water, hair dryer and KY Jelly all needed). I can't believe I didn't break it! After some reviews, I thought he wouldn't be that great for stop-motion, but he actually turned out great for stop-motion! If only I could put the SH MonsterArts Shin Godzilla tail onto the NECA...

Ah yes NECA Godzilla.....god i miss these...really do I still remember having the 1994 Goji from them and absolutly loving it because it was my First Godzilla Figure in Years....now i sit here with my 1989 Goji and sadly without the 94 cause he Broke.... I still try to get some releases i missed or didn't had the Chance to get at that time (which is really difficult...) And i really hope that NECA gets the License again in a Few years at least especially because it was a great alternative to SHAM, still want that Mothra xD Well we will see what the Future has in Store for us but like i said i do hope NECA gets to make more Goji figures. Great Video^^

Glad ya enjoyed it, fam! I'm always up for miracles, though it feels like that what It'd take for NECA to come back. Regardless, Im always ready to welcome em back and get back to work! The shared nostalgia from the peeps who actively enjoyed their releases has been a real treat to read through! Shows more people were on their playground more than many would've expected! NECA had their strong sides many overlooked, and I cant deny.. it was nice to have a company actively fixing their paint issues on top of it... for the most part (SORRY GMK). Here's to hoping Hiya Toys scratches that itch when they get around to making their articulated line!

Great video man ! Personally I think the 2003 deserves to be Best tier! In my mind they're easily NECA's best attempts at bringing to life a "suit" version of Godzilla as a figure, closely followed by the '62 and '64... also I disagree about the prototype Shin Godzilla from them, it's not as bad as what we got, but still pretty nasty.... then again I'm pretty picky about my shin Godzillas. I wish NECA got to keep going with their Godzilla line, even if the figures were a bit derpy at times, the box art was enough to warrant seeking them out !

Would that one custom Ready Player One Mechagodzilla figure count as a NECA figure? IIRC, the custom tin can figure is based on a mold that NECA was considering using before the Godzilla license expired.

15:02 I did not know that was what the prototype looked like. WHY did they have to change it?! I mean I know why he just said it but I would’ve went back to this. I only have the atomic breath version and I think I got lucky because it beautiful, kinda looks like the prototype with the difference being the head, dorsal plates, and the paint on his tail and dorsal plates. I would definitely rank mine munch higher but seeing so many neca shin Godzilla figures (original/atomic versions) on Amazon and eBay….I definitely got lucky

Indeed, I think their first go at it was perfectly fine! The sculpt was to be inaccurate regardless, might as well have gone with the beefier build! Atomic Shin seems to be half and half with a majority, the paint was inconsistent between various copies, but it seems like they really found their stride with the re-issued copies.

some I really don't know, but i know for a fact the updated NES Godzilla would be right on up there with the original. I know the standard KOTM Goji had some pretty big updated after the first one released, just couldn't find pictures, but he'd been higher too, for sure.

I love the Neca NES Godzilla figure, but I wish the figure was a repaint of the 1964 version, since well, *that was the version the NES sprites were based off of* 🙄

To my opinion the atomic version pf Godzilla is so bad i couldn't even fix the tail to him and the plastique is so weak (NOT RECOMMANDED!)

NES Godzilla and Godzilla 2003 are definitely my picks for the best. I think the Godzilla 1989 figure is objectively the worst. One of the ugliest figures Ive ever seen. In general, my opinion still stands that, while I quite like my NECA figures, they really arent spectacular. SHMA is better than them in every regard, as well as the teased Super7 line. And when you look at other NECA lines you can see just how good that company is at nailing accuracy. The NECA Xenomorphs look perfect. Which makes things all the more suspicious to me why their Godzilla line was just so....meh. I suspect that they were being lazy since Godzilla is more a niche thing, and Im definitely happy that the liscense is now with more responsible companies. Its a shame though that the mid-tier collector market for Godzilla is largely still absent. Everything has gotta be really expensive these days. That was NECA's biggest strength: I could go to a Target and get a decent Godzilla figure without breaking bank. I definitely miss that.
