NECA Predator 2 Ultimate City Hunter Predator Figure Review

Both the Jungle and City Hunters are fantastic movie accurate figures, I had to get both. These two are a must have for me, We didn't have great figures like these back in the 80's and 90's when Predator and Predator 2 came out, I'm so glad I could get these. Thanks for doing the reviews!

I really prefer the city hunter predator over the jungle one. The brown and copper color scheme runs through the entire creature in a more monochromatic design vs. the jungle predator, which has a few contrast-y hues ---- and the city hunter's more boney and ridged design in his crest is reminiscent of dinosaurs like the triceratops. I also love how his eyes are more sunken in and almost obscured, which vaguely suggests a human skull or death's head. Ironically, he would probably look more at home in the jungle than the jungle predator.

I've always had a liking for copper. I like the color, its versatility and the way it oxidizes makes it look ancient. I have a Japanese katana with copper kashira, tsuka and copper inlay on the saya. It may sound ludicrous, but the City Hunter is actually my favorite Predator, probably because it was 1990 and I was 16 when Predator 2 came out. Seeing the design of the ships interior was eerie high strangeness, in such a good way. The ship seemed to be alive as it pulsed translucently with amber light and the floor hissed softly obscured by some mysterious mist. Seeing the trophy wall and the Lost Tribe reveal implied an effective element of culture shock which I appreciated. Aesthetically for me the movie as a whole was the perfect balance between Predator culture, art and highly advanced unknown technology. And of course the musical score is a masterpiece.

I think that's a reason why alot of fans of City Hunter like its look so much its a really different contrast of the copper to the silver of the Jungle Hunter, I still prefer the Jungle Hunter myself but to City Hunters credit, it seems to show better on screen with the darker colours, almost conceals itself I guess a bit better too in its surroundings without having to really cloak either. thanks for checking out the video, so you would say Predator 2 is your all time favourite Predator movie?

So far every other Predator related movie since the first 2 just reminds me that there's no substitution for the great man Kevin Peter Hall. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing "Prey". It looks interesting. Hopeful it doesn't suck too hard.

Prey I'm looking forward to also, I like they went a very different direction, brought in the native warriors, made it a period movie with primative weapons, its more about just staying alive and using what you can find in the environment, which was the charm of the first Predator movie when at the end Dutch has to make shift his weapons to battle the Predator

I love this figure, the only issue I had with it was the paint app on the helmet was too flat out of the box. I gave it a quick gloss coat and it really brought it to life. I also used an Ultra Fine Point black Sharpie and carefully connected all the spotty and broken places on the body netting.

There’s a way to keep the smart disc in place because there is a grove on the inside of the holster and if you get the disc in that grove it will stay in place

I buy from Big Bad Toy Store, and it would seem that whenever I do I get the short stick, the figures I see in reviews look way better than my figures. The City Hunter I got today has a higher blue to brown ratio with the copper colors being very muted and less shiny as a result with the copper on the mask being almost non-existent and looking more dark brown with blue highlights. His leg is also messed up with the right leg looking dislocated. I'm suspicious of BBTS now, kinda rough to spend 50 bucks and not get the same quality you would expect from NECA.

I have the old City Hunter Predator from Neca (less articulation) and just got the ultimate City Hunter. Comparing the detail of the two, the original is FAR better! Especially on the mask! Actually looking at the two side by side I prefer the original City Hunter over the ultimate

i loved yout rzvieuw but i was laughing a bit the bomb lit is on the inside of his arm and indeed clicked open from up to down and the 2 pieces you got there is not a hook but a single shot plasma blaster ....in the movie dany glover hit the predator on his c&aster and it malfunctioned so the predator removed the plasma caster and countered dany glover with shooting a single shot blast on the chest and the netgun doesnt sit on the inside of the but on the outside over his knuckles maybe that helps a little ^^ grtz

I still have my 2003 Movie Maniacs 6 predator city hunter, and all i can say is at least this one is fully adjustable and the disc can actually fit in the holster. Those were the two biggest disappointments from the macfarlane line.

These new ultimate predators seem like they have different variants. I don’t know, maybe China’s got 2 different warehouses and from one warehouse they are coming out fantastic but the other jacked up, I don’t know that’s just a complete guess of mine. I bought an ahab from target and another from a nearby comic store and they both looked completely different and ohh ya the one from target had 3 changeable hands and the other one only had 2. It just sucks that we both buy the same figure but mine for example looks jacked up but yours looks awesome.. they should all look the same.

Only Problem with this figure is the Hand for holding the Net Gun is the same one they used for the Kenner Tribute Stalker Predator (a hand with a ball socket!). What were NECA Thinking?!

This figure was my first NECA figure, I watch this video and I never realize that the Blades were extandable so I tried on mine but for some reason the wont move I try my hardest and ended uo almost breaking the tip of one of the blades so that was were I stop trying is there any suggestions on what to do with that I will like to know

As see I wonder if this was the kind that visited Gotham in the Batman vs. Predator books. I need to get those from my Dad's as have the itch to read all of those crossovers. I actually like the look of this guy for that difference. Maybe a different tribe of them. The work done on the armor really pops out and dig the extras. I just wonder why didn't add the Battle damage feature as if recall Griggs (Glover) cut one of his arms off I believe as remember his on the go first aid scene in the film. Speaking of Danny Glover's character. Has Neca done a fig of him or is there an issue on that?

One thing I want to know is why doesn't city hunter come with 2 discs one coded and one open the battle damaged one does and all the other new ultimate lost tribe figures especially with the 2 spears retracted and full extracted spear my guess is that they didn't think of it at the time they did jungle hunter and city hunter as there very first ultimate figures mostly in mind with the slightly softer bendable plastic and double joints on the arms again jungle and city as the first 2 came out few years before all these new ones I'm glad they did a few other figures with the double jointed arms even though there not ultimate figures like the stalker glow in the dark one stalker also came with the net gun my original city hunter masked and unmasked the net gun was glued in but I popped it put quite easily and it sticks back in easily and stays in pretty good too just like this ultimate figure one last thing I'm so happy to know the ultimate lost comes with 3 heads masked unmasked open mouth and unmasked closed mouth jungle hunter and city hunter being the main character predator villain of the first 2 films should have both included 3 head jungle should have included unmasked open mouth and city hunter should have included the unmasked closed mouth since lost does city should and for god sakes lost ultimate should have included the original short sword its by all time favorite sword melee weapon it's so cool it looks more like a long knife machete type thing with spiked saw teeth on the back and the cool ivory white bone looking handle but I still have have my sword from the first lost figure so I can just add it to the ultimate lost when I finally get it but it with as much new detail and accessories as neca is trying to incorporate into these figures which I really appreciate there are still some things they failed to think of an add so theres still few occasional exceptions of times where you have to hang on to accessories weapons gadgets that came with the first save them for the newer overall better figures I was originally kinda overwhelmed still am and kimds wishing they didn't do these extra ultimate figures of all the lost tribe I was fine with jungle city and all the other kenner, comics and other different predators but this means I have to buy all new ones again it took me years being at the stores in the right places right times to get all new 3 every 3 months or so when they came out and covid has shut me in making me reclusive paranoid person several FYE closed down perminately along with toys r us going out of business so the very last figure I bought was the fugitive predator the first version at a target I was so surprised in 2019 on Christmas eve late at night I was surprised and happy but felt like everything was all coming to an end or at least long hault in a sense it did 2020 till 2022 sucked but the world has returned much more so to normal than I thought when I actually go outside and go places I heard the predator neca stuff would be normally released in more common stores such as Walmart and target which is nice I suppose because other than online I've always had to go to special stores like toys r us FYE grey whale and hammomd toys in the south town mall which grey whale and hammonds are still around open as far as I know but I feel like #1 I've missed out on too many I bought figures at this point I'm not sure how many have even come out since 2019 I'm doing my best to research it these reviews really help and #2 I feel so alone and shut in depressed honestly I'm very afraid I won't get back up on my feet and start going out looking buying collecting again along with drawing portraits & playing video games like new predator hunting grounds or finally getting around to playing predator concrete jungle despite having the game on ps2 even for many years I know I can always resort to ordering online thank god for that but I really enjoy the search the hunt if you will for figures especially predators being my number 1 favourite next to aliens and terminator figures I wish so bad I had even just one friend into this kind of stuff to talk to and hang out with even if just once in a while I don't know why I'm writing all this extra stuff down about my life all this just really struck a cord with me I'm excited but overwhelmed too by all the new stuff along with older ones I've missed I guess I just need some time to get used to all of it let it sink in and be patient I guess because this is a life long lifestyle of collecting for me I'm 34 so I'm the man I'm gonna be the rest of my life I intend to collect for the rest of my life at least predator aliens terminator I'll just do the best I can day by day to try and get back up continue collecting and doing what makes me happy in life

Not a huge fan of this figure, i bought one, the wrist bomb flap broke and the spear too, plus his right arm kept falling off at the bicep, so i went, returned it and.... spear on my second one broke and the right forearm keeps falling off. Either way I'm not happy with it

Stealth doesn't matter here because the thermal vision can see the jungle hunter anyways and the city hunter seems to be more prepared and better in close range and survive a shotgun shells to the chest jungle hunter was going to bleed out anyways so city hunter should win no problem
