Correct, and they are a real type of nunchaka. I woukd think you would see a "real ninja" carry this type for stealth. If you've ever messed around with them, the type with a chain can be noisy compared to the type with cords. The corded type are easier to handle as well

Great review. Those are truly awesome!! They literally look like they jumped right off the movie screen. It's almost creepy how lifelike they are. The only thing that would make them even better, is if people could actually buy them. LOL

I just got the 2-pack versions of these figures and I’m glad I waited honestly because they were super easy to find, but a little bit expensive. I’m so glad to have these! The only turtles I’ll ever need! I’m not interested in the cartoon versions for various reasons. Can’t express how awesome it is to have these dudes in my collection.

This and Reeves Superman are pretty much legendary. Hands down NECA is the king for getting these out and sculpting them to look the way they do which is 99.9% screen accurate.

LMAOO when you compared these to the Playmates ones! Wow those look like a joke compared to NECA’s NECA did such a fan flipping tastic job with these, they look so lifelike. I’m also surprised by the amount of articulation packed in these. Great review man, you’re so lucky to get them as a review sample Also, was that little moment in the stop motion when Raph stomps his foot a reference to him losing his Sai in the film (“damn!”)

Sonic the Commenter ugh!!! I'm so old! I love these older tmnt movies and shows! The 2012 tmnt was okay but the 90s tmnt was pure joy and nostalgia. You should watch the 2003 tmnt series, it is really underrated, but it's good and comic-accurate, I highly recommend.

I didn't get this set. But last week as of the time of this comment, I did pick up the individual figures at GameStop, and the turtles look awesome! No telling if they'll be in stock again though! They sold out super quick! Been looking forward to screen accurate TMNT movie figures for a long time! Now let's hope they make The Shredder, the foot soldiers and Casey Jones in that scale!

There are two VERY different shells. 2 of each type. And then Raph's shell is one of the 2 types but all fucked up and battle scarred, making it a third type. So there's basically one repeat.

An issue I have with this is it was the 1984 comic line that called the company TCRI. In the 1990 movie it's TGRI.

Yo Shart! When you review Sauron you gotta compare it to the Amazing Spider-Man Lizard movie figure. I just got my wave today and noticed Sauron uses lots of parts from that old Lizard. Makes sense though because if you look up Sauron customs most of the best ones use that figure as a base.

Give it a year or two They just showed off the 1:4 scale Foot Soldier. Next they're doing Shredder. Then probably Casey Jones. And then hopefully April or Splinter. Maybe Master Tatsu. Once they have another set of 4, they'll probably release another 4-pack.

I'd say there's a good chance that they're waiting to release the 7" versions until they have Casey Jones and Splinter, or something like that, to make a 2nd SDCC 4-pack. In any case, NECA DID say they were working on like 16 more characters for the first movie and the original cartoon. Presumably that's enough to cover Casey Jones, Splinter, April, trenchcoat Raphael, and Master Tatsu for the movie, because....I mean...that's pretty much everyone you could want from that movie, right? And that STILL leaves 11 cartoon characters they would be doing, and I have no idea who those could be. April, Casey, Baxter Stockman, Splinter.... and then who? Fugitoid? Usagi? Metalhead? (We know they've already done Slash, Leatherhead, 2 Dimension X villains, Bebop and Rocksteady) If they don't max out the movie characters, they're going to have to go DEEP cuts on the cartoon stuff to reach the 16 characters they said they were working on. And it's all definitely going to end up 7". They're selling 7" TMNT stuff waaaaaaaaaaaay faster than they can keep it in stock.

We had to wait so many years to get what we wanted. 6 inch TMNT movie figures. Thank you, NECA Toys and shame on you, Playmates. It took us this long for another company to give us what we want. Playmates has had the license for so many years and I just wish they would give it up already. NECA Toys puts Playmates offerings to SHAME. I understand Playmates is focused on the children's toys market, but it's so frustrating that we can only get these as exclusives. Playmates, you're a shitty toy company. NECA's TMNT figures just ridicules yours. No comparison.

I too have wondered why didn't still use cloth fabric for the bandanas and ribbon fabric for the back of the bandolier strap of the Donatello figure's belt to hold the bo staff just like they did to the 1/4 scale figures. How hard could it have been?

They don't have the license to do mass market 6" scale TMNT. They're allowed to do the huge ones, but Playmates has the mass market rights for small 6"-ish scale stuff, so they're only allowed to sell them as Con Exclusives. That said, they've very heavily hinted that that MIGHT be changing, and they MIGHT have worked it out so that they CAN sell this stuff mass-market soon. They said they're still working out the details and finalizing some stuff, so they're not sure EXACTLY what they'll be allowed to do.
