That silver chipping on the lid is intentional...they all have it. It's from when they chipped off the protective spells from the coffin when they buried Imhotep alive.

Been thinking to start collecting the universal monsters for a while now (basically ever since I watched the films). But I torn between the black and white version and the regular ones. And I would appreciate a second opinion on the subject. What would the Spot recommend?

The “paint damage” is on mine too. It’s screen accurate. In the movie they damage and scratch up the front of the sarcophagus. You can see it on the back of the box photos.

I was thinking the same thing. Mine also has the same "damage," as an intentional paint application, in order to be screen accurate. Mine also has random additional areas of applied damage. It is all completely as it should be.

Looks so cool! I’ve been wanting some kind of diorama and I picked one of these up as I’m gravitating towards an Egyptian theme. I don’t have this mummy, but I do have the turtle mummy 😂

I had the original remco mini monsters that the cardboard backs mimic in this line. Nothing beat those when i was a kid, despite the simplicity.

I got the Mummy figure last January, absolutely loved it, then I got the accessory set for Christmas to end off last year. All of that made the Mummy my favorite figure of last year. I didn't realize they included a backdrop, so that was a nice surprise, and since I swap parts out on my Universal monster figures fairly often, I actually just kept the spare parts I swapped out in the chest from this set seeing as the lid leaves a lot of room.

Mine also has the "damaged paint" but it's not dead center as yours is. It's in the general area and the application looks like it's on purpose, not missed or sloppy but the location is different from yours

I have this, the only issue I have with it, is that the backdrop is too small, the sarcophagus barely fits in it, needs to be double the size, but as I'm building a complete tomb diorama for it, it doesn't really matter to me, but for other folks who are just using the box contents, it's a little cramped

In the movie the slaves scrapped the jewels off the sarcophagus because he was buried alive in shame. That’s possibly why it is scratched

I have the colorized and b/w mummy. I bought 2 accessory packs to display both and waiting for an off week to decide how I will display both. But, I love the video for tips and suggestions. I wonder why they don't have packs for all Universal monsters?

I believe your not applying the chest lid on correctly. It goes on the other way and it will snap close
