I’ve survived 2020 by playing less attention to political media and focusing on getting my son out to the duck and good fields and ponds. It’s helped us grow and bond more, plus he’s learning skills that are no longer taught in schools. He’s also learning about sporting clays, trap and 5 stand. In a weird way, it’s been a blessing.

I survived 2020 by... well... hunting! How else?!?! Honestly, hunting turkeys this spring, training my American Water Spaniel, getting a new trailer ready for fall waterfowl, early season goose, teal season, and finally duck and goose season. Hunting helped me and my boys stay sane during quarantine and lockdown.

First and foremost, I have been able to survive 2020 because of the hope and security I have in Jesus. I know that no matter what happens here in this life, I'll spend eternity with Him in Heaven. From a little more earthly perspective, I survived the long spring and summer (stuck in quarantine with just my wife and kids) because of the connections I've made through Facebook, KZbin, and Instagram. I know all social media platforms have their flaws, and you can definitely get too much of a good thing, but getting to know other guys that respect and enjoy the outdoors the way I do has been a lifesaver. I'll never meet many of these guys in person. It's unlikely I'll get to spend time in the blind or the boat with almost any of them. But just knowing I'm not the only one that craves the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of waterfowl hunting at a deep, compulsive, visceral level, somehow makes me feel like I'm part of what they are doing.

Chuck here on my wife's account. We have survived by being fortunate enough to be retired and fairly well equipped financially. Being older we have been careful but still engaged in hunting and fishing, taken a tasty venison and many nice trout. Just had a few days of duck hunting and so far the season looks promising. Leaving for Eastern Washington potholes soon for a 4 day hunt. In the meantime I continue to draw and paint wildlife with an emphasis on waterfowl. All in all...we are surviving! thanks for the great videos!

Joel, I retired from Dentistry after 40 years this July. So, I have been surviving by improving habitat at my little hobby farm where my relatives and friends deer, dove, squirrel, rabbit, and turkey hunt. Unfortunately, I do not have opportunity to duck hunt the farm, but I make do by hunting waterfowl rich southern Illinois. My season starts this weekend! Dog, boat, decoys, and gear are all ready! I will be adding your homemade jerk cord this week. Thanks for the tip.

Joel, first and foremost great video. I never get tired of watching them. Thanks!! How I have survived covid? Fortunately for me my family has remained healthy and safe. Unfortunately for me I was laid off from my dream job in April. Being an optimist I thought I would find a replacement job in a few weeks. Boy was I wrong. It took several months and I nearly ran out of unemployment benefits prior to landing my new job. Those months were tough for me watching my wife leave for work each day without complaining. As a guy it was tough to see my wife be the one supporting the family financially. Through faith, lots of prayers, and your videos I was able and continue to survive 2020 and the covid pandemic. Your videos were truly a ray of sunshine and hope during some stormy times for me.

Well me and my family have been surviving KZbin my wife having a full-time job and me making the housework with two boys that love to hunt but want to fight all the time I get to be the referee. This was the first year my youngest has really wanted to go. Videos like yours are what keep us going. I got started about 6 years ago, a bunch of buddies told me not to get into it because it was so addictive they compared it to crack cocaine. LOL. I can't say they're wrong either I started out with $500 worth of gear including my gun now I probably have close to 9000 tied up in 6 years. My oldest that hunts with it he's 13 so I'm starting trying to pull stuff together so he has his own stuff cuz I know in a few years he's going to have his own truck and going to want to go on his own or with a few Buddies. My grandfather according to him and the rest of the family he only had about a dozen decoys but for the most part he walked from a little town called Larned Kansas to Pawnee Rock Kansas which is about 8 Miles whenever he wanted to go duck hunting and he would just jump them from around the corner oh, and he had a Jack Russell Terrier that we go retrieve for him the Ducks often times were bigger than the dog. But Grandpa and never failed to come home with 10 or 15 of them at a time but that was back before the game laws and during the 20s and 30s a lot of family fed their kids in that by what they can take of wild game.

I survived 2020 by trying to deal with my disease of waterfowl hunting. This sickness is relatively new to me, so I made sure I got on top of things right away. Bought a new SBE3, a couple days of pattern testing followed by exessive amounts of trap shooting. Frustrating the wife by buying too much gear and some long days was high on the list as well. I have survived 2020 by working with a ice cream delivery company to grocery stores, I built 2 dozen snow goose decoys tressel coated Styrofoam with sock heads flocked tails and heads and cedar coated keels. I take some groceries to my friends and family as my parents are retired and elderly and not getting out in this and some of my friends are not working. I deliver in a circle around 200 miles through the small towns i hunt waterfowl in. And get to see when the migration happens each season. There are snows, greater white fronts, Canada's, mallards, pigtails, gradwall, widgion, four types of teal, black ducks, canvas backs, redheads, mergansers, scaup, golden eye, and some stray other species all that frequently are spotted along the rivers and ponds in the area. I watch alot of KZbin and make comments on a wide range of things. I watch Joel on surviving duck season probably more than any other duck program because he has an honest sportsman dedication to actually teach the stuff others try to hide. And that's important in duck hunting. Id love to get my grubby mitts on one of those shirts also so if I don't win could you drop a link to buy one in the comments.

Being a firefighter emt i have delt with this type of stuff for years. Just some extra precautions now. But honestly if it wasn't for the outdoors I would probably go crazy. Looking forward to our season to open this year more than ever before. Where I'm at a 2 birs day is a good day. But weather I see a bird or not just being there gives peace of mind. I’ve survived scouting every weekend in Middle TN in hot weather. Have to store my boat where there’s no electricity to charge batteries. Bought a solar panel the fix that issue. Then there was some dirt on the battery causing me to think the negative was the positive and had my connections reversed causing my trolling motor to run in reverse. No tools onboard so had to wing it for the day until I got home. While my trolling motor battery was dead I tried using the trim on my outboard to get me in the shallow water and clogged up my water intake housing lol. Today was great. Battery was charged, connected to the correct terminals so I could use the trolling motor in shallow water. Ahh, felt like I was high class scouting today lol.
