My blood pressure is pretty low so I get a lil woozy sometimes and I already kinda feel scared then. Never passed out in my life which I am VERY thankful for.

As someone who sometimes passes out as a result of medical conditions, I don't do things that put me at risk of losing out. If I start feeling woozy, it becomes voluntary floor time, since involuntary for time sucks, and is dangerous. If I know something has s decent chance of passing out, i just don't do it. When I got my daith and septum repierced, let the piercer know I could pass out, so I fully laid down for the daith. Safety precautions should always be maintained!

I've never fainted in my life but every time I go to get a piercing done, I'm such a nervous "I hope I don't faint" type of person 😅 I've only had 4 piercings, including a surface piercing, and I always keep my composure. It truly shocks me how people can shake and scream and grab the piercer! Never!!

My dad was in his 60s when he broke his nose after he passed out on his own at home (his blood pressure tanked on him, he wasn't piercing himself...but that image is kinda funny). Because he was alone we didn't know if he had a concussion or how long he was out for. He'd obviously hit his head but we didn't know how hard or badly. So they took him in to hospital for observation for 48 hours. It was pretty scary, and mum was a ball of nerves anytime she had to go out and leave him alone after that. I guess the only advantage of that girl recording herself when she passed out is she knows what happened and will be able to tell how long she was out for.

When I was piercing professionally, I was told that if a person passes out when you pierce their first nipple, don't do the other while they are passed out. Yet I can't tell you how many ppl told me," if I pass out, just do the other while I'm out."

Love this. My Nan got her first tattoo at 60. Sat there calmly making small talk with everyone in the studio, while in another chair a huge, much younger guy was wincing and fussing. She was only getting a little tattoo, but was on her ankle and the artist loved her so much he wouldn't let her pay 😂

My coworker walked in for new piercing jewellery and decided she wanted to get a second helix piercing. I used to work in a vet, helping out with gory surgeries, amputations, getting covered in blood etc. Then one day I took my own cat to get his claws clipped, and passed out in front of the vet. So embarrassing lol. Never happened before. Sometimes it's just not your day, but that's just more reason not to do these things to yourself

Heavy earrings hack: wear them with tunnels, like Lux does with her ear hangers. If you’ve had pierced ears for a long time or wear heavy earrings regularly chances are the smaller tunnels will fit without having to stretch them. That’s how I wear big hoops, I got my ears pierced around 6, 7 years old.

I couldn’t imagine being a mother and piercing anything on my child. My daughter was 14 when she asked to get her nostril pierced. I took her to a reputable piercer just like I did when she wanted her ears pierced. No child should be pierced, even their ears until they are old enough to make that decision. My daughter will be 18 in a couple months but also has three small tattoos. Kids do stupid shit so I wanted to make sure it was done in a safe way rather than behind my back. Many teens like to do stick and pokes now and didn’t want her attempting it. She used money that she earned for her tattoos and it was something we did together and in places where it can be covered.

fun fact- as someone who got a piercing done with a gun at a place I thought would do better (big regret of mine), some of them have special piercings with a sharp end because they're made to pierce the ear, and then there's a blunt backing so it doesn't stab you all the time. they're not good at all, and are still no excuse to have a piercing done with a gun, but they're a bit better than a blunt object. this is how they justify themselves- the place I went to said "hmm, haven't heard anything bad about piercing guns, but hey this isn't a blunt object! :) " so I thought maybe it would be fine, but it turns out they repierced one lobe perfectly, but the other they made a new piercing right next to the old one and didn't go through the old one. that made it awful for years and years (it's been 8 years and after I stretched them they finally seem fine) and it wouldn't heal for the longest time

27:22 the woman with the keloids is actually prone to them. Her father has issues with keloids and can be genetic. Dr. Lee actually gets a lot of patients with them and has said they are more common in the black community. She urges those who have parents with keloids to be careful when getting piercings and says if you do want piercings to go to a piercer vs a common store in the mall that uses piercing guns. Which I also noticed that Claire’s now does nose piercings. Should not be allowed what so ever. Dude was just click baiting people

I've only passed out once and very nearly a second time because I simply forgot to breathe! The time I did pass out was when I was having a minor surgery and the nurse was having trouble putting the IV in. I was watching and so focused that I literally didn't breathe. All of a sudden I felt like I was going to throw up, and the next thing I knew I was laying down. I hadn't eaten and I was bracing against the pain/discomfort, so now when I have my blood drawn or get shots, I make myself breathe. I've been binging a ton of your videos and really enjoying them and have definitely learned practical useful information. I now really want to get my conch pierced, and have been looking around for a reputable place to have it done.
