Well done David. This gives me courage to attack this part of my PRS build

Most bar clamps let you reverse the jaws to use them as the spreader clamp you're talking about @14:00

Cheers buddy.

another option is to cut a block of scrap and use a wedge. i always make the wedge out of softwood so it doesn't leave marks.

Also, use on oversized neck template which extends over the edges of the body which you can keep flat, level to the back. Clamp everything in place and route the neck.

Though the neck is always the trickiest part of any build, it all looks great. We’ll done. As far as the clamps…Irwin and Jorgensen/Pony both make clamps where you can un-assemble the top piece and flip upside down so as to use the clamps as spreaders. I think that might work in future.

Use the heel,of the neck, after positioning it properly on the body, to install the guide blocks around the neck heel itself for a perfect fit.🙏🏻💜🇨🇦

Did you finish it yet ? I m trying to do my first telecaster. You’re doing a good job.

Thanks buddy. I'm getting there. Just in the middle of sanding the body ready for finish at the moment.

Why didn't you just sand the neck pocket by another 0.3mm both sided for the second bit of veneer to allow you to use two veneers

But definitely route the neck pocket before shaping the body.
