I think it's cause the devs toyed with our expectations too well, it's entertaining watch others going through those same motions. Personally, when they boarded the express I was starting to worry that was it, that Penacony was gonna be Inazuma all over again (ending poorly-paced and rushed), so when Black Swam showed up after the fake credits it was a crazy mix of suspense and relief...but also sadness, cause that cemented Genshin Could Never into my psyche.

Sometimes I wonder how much people actually pay attention. Because all of this made sense to me. I actually thought it was quite brilliant.

Even getting all the details, as you're playing you naturally form your own theories and conclusions, especially with things that are up for interpretation and as such people come to have to differing perspectives. I made the mistake of doubting Hoyo's ability due to the disappointment in the Loufu and this made me think the signs were just plot holes. When I went through the fake ending I was legitimately so mad I started writing a hateful essay in my head haha. During the real ending my brain imploded and I shed tears for the first time in ages just thinking about how peak the story was and how brilliantly it was told. I now see this game as one of my personal favorites, up there with P5 and TW3 in terms of writing, just because of this arc. Some things definitely went over my head though for sure, like Ena having a lot of foreshadowing and signs sprinkled throughout (Ex; The eye in Sunday's outfit, and on the crow belonging to the dream master)

Well, with the yapheron meme and all, let alone the tiny details and hints here and there most ppl can't even pay enough attention to listen to what said, if they could they would just press the skip button. I think most ppl just want the action, and don't really care about the story telling.

Also I noticed a lot of ppl tried doing all 8 hours of the quest in 1 go, and started getting bored/tired/whatever towards the end, and they'd just start skipping/skimming the story. I did it in 2 or 3 parts throughout 2 days so the story was still fresh in my mind, and I wasn't mentally draining myself trying to push through 8 hours of quest.

@@plasmapanther4444 Yeah, that's also their own fault. I did it in one go too but that was only because I was hooked to the story. I hope the writers dont listen to the complaints of ''too much dialogue'' or ''bad pacing'' or ''hard to understand'', because them taking their time cooking is how Penacony ended up being a peak meal. Yeah, they aren't easy to understand themes. So what. Not everyone should be a story written for small children.

1:54:05 The reason why Sampo and not someone else is because him and Sparkle know each other and Sparkle probably knew that him and the Trailblazer are also aquainted + the fact that it isn't uncommon for Sampo to disappear out of thin air just reappear at the least expected moments so seeing him in Penacony wouldn't be too weird. As to how Sparkle know Sampo : some quests heavily implies that he was (or is) also a Masked Fool but I don't think it was confirmed yet so we have to take that information with a grain of salt.

It is most likely due to enigmata rule considering he is the history fictionologist (a faction belong to the path of enigmata). This path focused on obscuring certain truth, since some truth is dangerous if discovered, which in turm making enigmata a counter of erudition. One rule of fictionologist according to him is "fictionologist will cease to exist if completely exposed" and he broke this rule twice: First when sunday confront and figured out who he was. Second when he told MC party about himself.

I’ve been learning Chinese for basically my entire life and I’m still terrible at it (probably because I don’t put in enough effort). Even so, with my basic understanding of the language, the language that hoyo uses in their games is a lot more complex than the everyday Chinese you would see, and if you want to read the blocks of text that is the lore, you’re gonna have to put in a lot of effort to recognise and remember the niche terms. But if you learn it consistently for long enough, you should be able to get the hang of it eventually :)
