In some forms of rl necromancy in history it had some fortune telling in it. What if they go in the opposite route and get information from the past like during the God Wars where we get lost knowledge and power. Life runes lol jk

Necromancy tower, and necromancers actually go alllllll the way back to runescape classic, there is lore in the roots of the game!

I think the new skill could come from the shadow realm. We already had a powerful elder god destroyed, makes sense something evil in nature is in there. References have also been made that even trindel was scared whilst she was in there. Sliske Dabbled but ,perhaps dint totally master it, Zaros however may have. There's reference in arch .in the cathedral of Zaros being evil as well with the inverted pentagram .

Maybe you will need archeology to farm new runes, divination for secondary ingredient, herblore to make pots, types of monsters locked by slayer and hunter and summoning requirements and prayer with magic for spell strength or something along those lines.

That's some *bold* thinking, see what I did there? I feel like new runes and magic should play a part, They said it wont be an elite skill but said nothing about reworking other skills to suit it. Slayer is another thing that would be interesting to be the "gathering" element of the skill

@lasersharks maybe. But as we don't have much info right now I just put one of my ideas lol. Besides, I think it's pointless to make a new skill without implementing other skills as much as possible so it's kind of would make sense to level up other skills in order for new skill to be beneficial like they did with invention. Also they have released dungeoneering and slayer skill dummies as well as herblore, cooking and runecrafting protean items for the public use....it might be related to speed up training in prep for new skill...who knows.
