Necron Dynasties Upgrade - Improving the Precon Commander Deck with $300

I like most of this upgrade a lot, from your removals for me i would prefer to keep these: Cryptek, Canoptek Spider (even if you took out vehicles i would try to test it out first before taking it out), Their name is death (for this deck it's way too great of a board advantage to take out, so i would keep this and damnation) and Biotransference (the token advantage should really help accelerate the game more than it kills you but would test as well and allows to return our non artifact creatures), probably would keep these cards instead of your wombo insta win combo (Nevinyrral's disk, mycosynth lattice, darksteel forge) since i don't think the deck has enough tutors and we reduced the milling on the deck a lot to be able to realiably get it out. As for lands i would do the same you propose but aditionally add a cabal stronghold as a minor brother to Cabal coffers. Will be trying this out ty for the upgrade

I made a similar version of this deck but I kept in their name is dead and added Phyrexian Scriptures as an extra board wipe taking out the other ones in the deck

So the thing about the four card combo I found is that I love having them in because even though it is tough to get all four of them, each of these four cards are immensely useful all on their own. I've had lots of games so far where I only got 1 or 2 of the pieces but they were still super useful. The other thing, and I think you touched on it by re-adding Canoptek Spider, is that the deck in this video seriously lacks card draw, and once that has been improved, your chances of getting the combo increase a great deal. As far as Biotransferance goes, I love the card and agonized over it a little, but ultimately I hate the idea that I might get to one of my infinite recursion loops and not be able to play it because Bio would kill me. At the end of the day, though, most of my creatures are artifacts already, so the benefits it provides seem marginal anyways and I still have Mycosinth Lattice in here anyways.

I was using this deck for about three months and it is terrific but I think there were a few issues with the decklist from this video and these two primary issues were ramp and card draw. So to that end we re-added plasmancer and also put Solemn Simalacrum in. SS in particular is nice because he has an ETB and an ETG effect for both ramp and card draw and this could be nicely abused in this deck with recursion. For card draw I went with Phyrexian Arena, Necrologia, Species Specialist, and Canoptek Spider. I recently aquired Necropotence and will slot that in soon, somehow. Phyrexian Arena has been terrific, though, and also it synergizes nicely with Inventor's Fair to perfectly offset the life loss. Adding card draw gave a very dramatic improvement because it seemed there were lots of games where within 6-7 turns I was running out of steam and this deck is so combo-centric that you really want to persistently push to get card advantage. Now, on to the four card combo with Nev's Disc, Darksteel Forge, Mycosinth Lattice, and Unwinding Clock.... I am seeing lots of comments on here from folks saying to remove these entirely because it's so unlikely you get all four in play. This is true to an extent, but the biggest reason I still love leaving all four of these cards in is that they all have pretty significant utility for the deck all on their own. For example, Unwinding Clock all by itself is super useful to untap all your artifacts, Darksteel to make everything indestructible, etc etc. That being said, I DID just last game get Nev, Darksteel, and Mycosinth out and everyone resigned lol. It's FUN. I'll be updating my Moxfield list for this tonight, so if anyone is interested I could post that here.

I went deeper into the reanimator theme with Unmarked Grave / Persist and added Wurmcoil Engine. My goal is to sac and reanimate Wurmcoil over and over to get 2 Necrons and 2 Wurms each time!

I find Wurmcoil just perfect in there (the looks could be necron-ish). Phyrexian Triniform is a nice and fitting addition too, as well as Triplicate Titan. If you reanimate them (Nim Deathmantle, Reanimate, etc.)… well, that‘s value!

For the Hexmark Destroyer lore: Multi-threat Eliminator requires 6 enemies to block because the ability on TT makes every enemy it kills give an extra shot with one of it's 6 pistols. It would be 6/5 if you consider it's pistol strength and it's wound stat though.

Little recommendation, add things like triplicate titan, Phyrexian trinaform, myr battle sphere, and/or wurmcoil engine as they go infinite with nim deathmantle and ashnods alter making you infinite tokens especially paired with imotekh

I see this deck having a key problem. You sorta all-in mana reduction and combo but you have no mill or card draw. It's really easy to flood out and lose tempo ive been testing out my own build of the deck and i made a similar error. Deadly dispute, mesmeric orb, altar of dementia, buried alive, village rites, etc. Canoptek spider and out the tombs shouldnt have been cut.

What I found is you do OK with the mill being reduced, but adding card draw is ABSOLUTELY crucial. Main additions were Phyrexian Arena (working nicely with Inventor's Fair), Species Specialist, Necrologia, and Canoptek Spider. I want to get Necropotence in here especially because you can gamble with life to go straight to a win con in a major way and that can be fun.

i added a lot of the same stuff. but i leaned in harder to reanimation, milling, and card draw, i also added things like sacrifice lands to thin the deck out faster. i didnt do any infinite combo's though. if you only play casual like i do, infinite combos kinda ruin the entire night.

I infinite blasted with imotekh, phyrexian altar, agent of the iron throne, and tortured existence. I just kept spinning with a junk diver and wurmcoil engine. I added tutors like diabolic, grim, sidisi undead vizier, and demonic to grab combo pieces.

@@andygoody2599 which is NOT an upgrade. If you take the tyres off a Ferrari, throw the rest of the car into a bin and use the tyres on a Lamborghini you cant call it a "Ferrari upgrade". If you change 10%, 20% or even 30% of the base it can be an upgrade, but if you keep only 5 or 10 cards out of 100 of the original deck it is NOT.

It needs it. The necron deck is a chunk of great cards with a strategy that doesn't really flow well. You basically have 2 decks in one that play around the graveyard and like 4 different potential commanders to build a deck around.

Hexmark destroyer. Why the 6’s? Hex means six. Usually associated with polygons like Hexagons which is 6 sides, or in chemistry for carbon structures ie, hexane.

I’m sorry… we are taking out removal and mill on ETB in a recursion deck? Yea 5 mana is a lot but if you are paying retail for it then the deck is running poorly. The idea should be to keep getting that piece back on the field especially multiple times a turn. And refueling our GY in the process.

For real decent deck list, don't think I would go for the mean combo myself. Would probly sub it all out for card draw, alot of this is great if you can get to it but dayum you pulled out all the card draw and a bunch of mill. Looks to me like running outta gas could be a real issue here unless you randomly draw into your tutors or the right cards.

I would have loved to see this upgrade as a $100-$150 upgrade without the mean combo. I think it would highlight the base deck more since a lot of the base deck that got cut is not bad for this theme.

So while it wont make sense for non 40k fans, not having dark ritual makes sense for this deck because the necrons are all about science while the chaos forces are the ones that commit dark rituals

I think the problem with him as the commander is that all he does is combo. If im your opponent i cant let him live like ever or we lose. So actually casting your commander and untapping is going to be hard. It's sorta like Godo Bandit Warlord. Imotekh can still combo but actually does give you value outside the combo and people dont feel like they have to kill your commander immediately to keep playing.

I too felt like I was just looking at a bog-standard artifact deck honestly. I have the dynasty deck and have put none of those in it. for $300, I would throw in some tutors, jet medallion, tortured existence, and cabal coffers/cabal stronghold/crypt of agadeem/ phyrexian tower. You could even do the mono black extra turn spell so you get ahead of your opponents ( which is absolutely needed). I also have bola's citadel in

I focused more on the original theme too. Even though i cutted the vehicles (except the monolith, he is too much flavour) i left many necrons in the deck. Wurmcoil, Triplicate Titan and Phyrexian Triniform are imo perfect addintions with a lot reanimator-effects (like Cryptek, awesome dude!)

there already is so little card draw in the deck. he put in endless sac/recast combos but took out the best draw engine for the combo... Endless triggers, endless mana and no cards to use the mana on...
