This batrep was blast to produce and the new maelstrom of war definitely added that chaotic warscape 'feel' I've been missing!! Nothing is better than purging some xenos in the morning (though....maybe burning heretics?🤷‍♂️). 18:06 The twin icarus no longer suffers a hit penalty to ground units. However, they only add one to hit against Aircraft. Nothing to do with flying units either. 19:52 The Intercessor can shoot both the grenade launcher(Assault weapon) and the bolt rifle(Rapid Fire Weapon).

Everyone here so salty about the Necron list, saying its horrible and will never work, failing to see how the Salamanders list also not optimized since they people are, *gasp* Playing for fun? This Batrep shows that even if the units aren't competetive, they're still capable of actually doing their jobs. The Reanimators rezzed a ton of Warriors, and helped a lot, look at the difference between them when they had them and the one blob to lose its Reanimator. The Doomstalkers are Swingy, but Swing in both directions. They got just as many insanely good rolls as insanely bad ones. The Monolith... didn't really perform well, but Luka did get some value from it, doing decent damage to the Land Speeder and more importantly, keeping the reanimator safe for another turn. These "Bad Pieces" unironically won him the game. The Necron blobs pushed up to the enemies objectives while keeping relatively full health, while the Doomstalkers completely destroyed the main part of his army, taking out 2 of the dangerous vehicles, most of the marines, and the very Scary Smash captain.

Unfortunately there are alot of trolls who think " the meta " is the word of god and they are misguided by tier lists and " pro players " that are on the internet. They dont know the true spirit of 40k. One day they will wake up and realize they missed out on what 40k is really about : having fun.

Always reserve the Monolith. That gives you 2 turns to remove as many of the threats to it as possible.

I personally love when your own group has its own meta that develops from playing eachother with the units everyone loves. There is so much more people can get out of this hobby for the money we put into it if we just took time to try everything offered to us.

The way you feel about Monoliths is how I feel about my Baneblade, though I don't know if it's better or worse stats/cost-wise. If it'll fit into the list there will always be the urge to bring my big dumb tank, could I bring things more effective for the same price? Absolutely, but then I wouldn't be bringing a really big dumb tank, so where's the fun in that?

Enjoyed the game, i did skip parts because it's just how I consume. One think that is worth noting though is that the Monolith does not get the benefit of detachment abilities because it's in a super heavy detach, and you did reroll wound rolls on it which it isn't able to do. Apologies if you did pick this up late game!

This is why you NEVER set a Monolith up on the board. You always set it up in reserve and deep strike it.

That poor poor monolith. I’ll I can see is Godfather talking about how they massacred his boy. Deep striking that many points is rough but I think you need to, to ensure you at least get 2 turns of shooting before you die

Necrons should only be res'd back into the spot they were destroyed from. Necrons have been one of the strongest factions since 7th. So many buffs, great saves, shooting, invulns. Its crazy, they are an all around army. So hard to kill them unless you spam mortals. Just like with sisters. The game needs to drop invulns some, and make those with them no better than a 5+(including characters). Make it rare like it should be. If need be, drop the AP on many weapons, so that models armour saves might actually do something.
