everybody is saying that but i beg to differ. he plays simpler versions of those drumlines and adds little to nothing to his playing in exchange. feels like people are just stoked when they see marco because he was on that one dream theater audition video
@quadblaster69420 Жыл бұрын
@@kitarajaba9154 I'm on the same page. Not to take anything away from Marco, he's a legend and he's one of the top drummers currently alive. It's just that the stuff that Hannes plays is basically the pinnacle of this genre and requires an unbelievable level of dedication to play correctly. I think that, given more time, Marco would have been able to obviously nail the tracks 100 percent, but he was stepping FAR out of his comfort zone as far as playing goes and you can't exactly learn this style of playing overnight. The level of endurance, precision, technical ability and power required are incredibly high. To even go further with this example of comfort zones, Hannes when playing live (gotta emphasize that) with Hate Eternal and playing some of their older catalog, you can tell that playing for loooong extended periods that are just constant blasts, he almost struggles to keep the power (as most would, only a few can truly play with speed and power like that for long periods) on his snare hand. Marco and Hannes are both god tier drummers but they both have their specialties, as do guys like David Diepold, George Kolias or John Longstreth. You switch any of these guys up and make them play with the other guy's band, there will be a bit of a learning curve for them. We're pretty lucky to have such an incredible wealth of drumming talent in this day and it's so rare to see a guy like Marco, who normally plays Fusion, jumping into a death metal band. I loved watching him play with Necrophagist. I know a lot of dudes are stoked about Marco, too, because of his work with Paul Gilbert #endrant
