Carlini is such an asset. Runs such a fast tempo and is so creative. Love how she’s unlike other American setters and forces middle even when the pass is quite off. Her connection with Ogbogu 🔥❤️

Also the improvement from the last game and week 2 to this game is significant….its more important than ever to fight for a spot in the final week, because by then they will have truly found their form and can use more matches with the full team! I think they can make it.

Dana's performance in this game is phenomenon, even Carlini's set is unreachable sometimes, but she got an 83% efficient rate ( 10 kills, 2 blocks, 1 ace)

Do you know what you are talking about? Both drews and Thompson are opposite hitters. Plummer is our best block on the outside and has great offense front and back. Her defense has improved. Thompson is not playing well, this isn’t 2020.

This is really a strong and perfect first six line up for USA. Strong offense/defense and fast. How much more if they are able to recruit a naturalize player like Haak & Fedorovtseva. Grats to the win Team USA👏👏👏♥️.

This is the best performance from both teams…despite the 3 set win, the Netherlands honestly looks way better than canada atm, but I think its good that usa didnt give them a set, because they had to play team C or D of servia while canada had to play a significantly better Serbian team; this evens it out lol I also hate to say it but this match would have been very different with thompson replacing drews. This is drews first game and she already looks more confident and sure of herself than JT has all tournament. I don’t think carlini knows how to set plummer, she often put in in positions she had to try to swipe off the block or tip. Plummer doesn’t need the ball tight to the net, not sure why they try to force that. Then at one point when she set a couple of bad balls to Plummer she just avoided setting outside. Wong is improving but she is still struggling with the pass, cook outshined her even in that department. Overall i’m happy team usa is looking more like team usa, nice even distribution overall. Carlini is in great shape and she saved many tight or trouble passes and she made alot of digs neither of the other setters would. I think she made a good case for herself as the lead setter today. The japan/canda and canada/netherlands game will be super interesting, with the latter feeling like a final within the final; the way the Dutch played today, I think canada might have issues….but lets see their form vs japan.

I'm not sure why they have Hall on this week's roster. The Olympic alternate is going to have to be a pin hitter, especially since they're killing Plummer's confidence. Again playing her at H2 and the better passer/defender at H1...Karch just has to bite the bullet now, put Plummer at H1 and tell her to put the ball down. If she can't, then they have to move in another direction. I've never really been high on her because she plays smaller than she is which is the most frustrating thing in volleyball. She can probably spike the ball without even jumping. Her hitting window should be massive, and she should have an advantage with tight (or really any) sets. Also, making your workhorse pin hitter (opposite) run around the entire court in Rotation 1 like an actual racehorse (6:11) is so goofy and a great way to wear her out lol

A great win against the ageing Netherlands. I was very happy to see Drews back and, as was the case in Tokyo, she took over the starting line-up and never let go. Orantes worked more in the back court, making good saves and growing. Cook and Larson are the best back court there is. I still prefer Washington as a starter, but Chiaka has shown she can step in and help Dana with the blocks. Plummer needs to improve her setting, the ball isn't falling yet. The serve has improved, but it's far from destroying defences. Carlini is a good setter, she's worked well, but Poulter is speeding up the game, distributing better.The path is clear, but there are improvements to be made.Go USA.

USA playing great. Defense and serve receive is good. I just don’t understand why they don’t block line on a great hitter on the opposite. For example Melissa Vargas. USA’s outsides are pretty good blockers take line and force them to your defense.

Cook is the most complete outside hitter in the world: she is better than the libero at reception and defense, and her attack is also awsome, if plummer starts playing as in conegliano, this will be a deadly duo. love from italy 💚🤍❤ . i'm very excited to watch italy-usa

Honestly same. JT is good, but it seems as though her timing on the right side attacks have been way off. The ball is constantly behind her when she swings. I think JT will still play a vital role in Paris, but Drews is the go to now.
