You know, one thing that has me thinking is how different the lore is if you take Single Player into account, imagine at some point the Arks stop producing humans at all to the point that humans are extinct now and somehow Helena found a way to make only one Human (the Survivor) spawn with the ability to come back from the dead.

one thing i could think to make it possible its that helena, knowing how humans are, deactivated the human clonation in the island ark and every ark the survivor goes until he goes to the next, only to make it easy to the survivor

The note where The One who waits explain why we are called "The one who tries again" is easily my favourite note of them all. I find it epic, hopefull and inspiring, seeing it for the first time actually made it even more satisfatory to beat the ever living shit out of the king titan, such a great piece of storytelling

How did you do? I recently finished Scorched Earth. I finished my preparations and went to Aberration. I’ve found a safe place and set up my base camp. I don’t know what comes next. I paused the video at this point because I was to discover it all on my own. I want to discover how I must find Rockwell and defeat him myself. It’s curiousity and hope that drives me. If I already knew I would not be so driven to continue. To find my answers, to destroy Rockwell and find a way to save Earth. I don’t know how or why. I don’t even know what befell the earth. But I will. I will find my answer.

The very end of the Extinction Ascension cutscene always confused me. I never put together that it was Rockwell roaring, and that the damaged Ark shown was Aberration. I had such an "OH, DUH!" moment. Thanks for continuing to put out quality content that details the fantastic lore of Ark!

Ark isn't without its flaws. Lord knows everyone who plays it can list them off. But one thing you have to applaud is their storytelling. I still get chills when you beat Extinction and watch the cutscene. Amazing video Ned. Once again you deliver a quality video packed with information. I love this video in particular! The mix between your usual narrative style and the machinima-style depictions of the actions by the "survivor" fits it just right for an epic tale. I think how ARK gamifies the player in that sense is what has driven so much of my love for this game, as many of my best memories involved dying in the most horrific ways and having to learn from it to get my kit back lol

Even as a 'god' Helena hasn't realized she never knew Rockwell. He didn't start his dark spiral on Scorched Earth. She just never saw his Mr Hyde side. He was ALREADY a twisted individual as per his own journal entries. Experimenting on his own assistants and unknowing tribes.

First time I bumped into this youtuber and the presentation and storytelling made me cry and given me goosebumps. @@Myne1001 I think the information Peter Fries wants to give us in that cutscene is not that Aberration was destroyed, as that wouldn't make sense because it appears later in the story. The information he wants to give us is that Helena wasn't lying to us when she said in The One Who Waits note 27 that we put an end to Rockwell, because she actually thought Aberration had been destroyed. That's why she left the superluminal link open.

Argentavis are easy tames,just find 4+ of them and leave the strongest one alive and knock it out and then harvest prime meat from its fallen comrades and then few moments later you'd have a OP mount with healing ability and weight reduction and has allot of stamina(my Argie can fly half way across the entire island without stopping)

i'm playing Ark singleplayer on PS4 to complete the story, after MANY crashes (most of them in Aberration and Extinction) i finally went to Gen 1.. but i didn't like it much, some missions are fun but others are so boring to do and take too long for no reason :( (i imagine Mei and Diana died when they tried to leave the map, but that may be just a gameplay feature idk)
